this came up in the 2500 forums and needs to be addressed as either a bug or an individual issue. additional user input is required.

does jjos1 or 2 have any issue in the 2500 with unexpected screen switching while hitting different pads/buttons? ie, screens switching to different subscreens without pressing the associated softkey combo?

please report if this is an issue.

remember that in os2, MAIN will switch between grid edit/main screen, and there are other hotkeys as well.

Sup Nym, FYI, i tried to recreate the glitch but was not successful (free jjos). The only thing remember last time it happened, i think, was i was in step or grid edit mode trying to copy 2 bars. The sequencer was in play i think and i was in record mode. I know all this uncertainty doesnt help but it might be useful as i wont be able to test it out any further, I sold half of my gear last week and the 2500 is being sold today. GL

I have this problem too once in a while.
Sometimes i want to convert a bunch of samples to mono on the mpc , so i go to trim window and i go " select sample , f6 (edit) - f5 (do it) - then + (to go 1 sample up) then again f6 - f5 - + - f6 - f5 - + ............
So i keep doing that to convert all my samples and once in a while pressing one of those keys will take me to the mixer screen.
It happes on other occasions too and it seems to be totally random.
I'm on an mpc2500 with jjos 2

It happened to me a few times while i was on program mode.
I'm doing the shift+f6 in order to select all my samples, and then i come back to the main page, with my track muted.
I think a similar bug happened while i was renaming a program.

this has happened to me a bunch of times on all OS's, Akai, OS1 and OS2...not frequently though. I feel like it would be nearly impossible to recreate or create a step list of how it happens. One thing I've noticed is it jumps to a neighboring key. Like whoever said he hit F6 and it jumped to NEXT SEQ, they're relatively close. Could be a design flaw in the 2500.

I just had this problem, everything was going crazy i was hitting one pad and it would show diff, note numbers/pad #'s.
i tried to enter save mode it took me to a diff.screen. powerd off then back on still acting crazy so imma mess wit it.powerd off for the second time switched back on still same thing so i loaded my chromatic pad program and i wasn't having any probs so i know it wasn't hardware related.
So then i just reloaded the mpc2500_jv120 os turned off then on back to normal for the time being. If i happens again and i figure out what caused it ill let you guys know as for now it was the ghost of halloween.
