Hey i bought the jj os a while ago...lol i think im runin 4.15. anyway i want to upgrade but i cant find my password. Is there anyway i can see it on my mpc?

you only need it the first time after that you get the updates for free...so you dont need it to download the latest os

old thread, I know...but do you need it to upgrade to OS2 from OS1?

Yes ....If you want os 2 you must first buy os 1.... You can't install os2 with out os 1. And then you gotta buy os 2 also.

I already have OS1, but can't find my password...does this mean I'm screwed when I upgrade to OS 2? Don't tell me I have to buy another p-word!!!!!!

You dont need a password for os1 anymore its stored on the mpc... no you only need a password for upgrades like to os2 but its a different one....

so when I purchase my OS 2 password, I will put that in my mpc (which currently has OS1 loaded) and all will be well? No need for the old OS1 password?

That's how I understand it, Like mistersosa74 said, once you have purchased and entered your OS1 password, it is stored somewhere in the EEPROM (a chip on the board of the MPC) and cannot be overwritten like removable storage can. You can move between JJ and Akai OS' and the password details of OS1 will still reside in the MPC. The same applies for OS2 once it's password is entered. Cheers!
