Is there a way to do this?

I want to be able to see all 16 pads with their assigned samples (like in "track mute" or "next seq" view).

I'm playing live and want to see which samples are on which pads. Any suggestions?

And how's that? Neither next seq. nor mute tracks show the pad sample assignment.

mode pad 7 or 11 depending on what os. you can see 4 at a time

yes he did! I was thinking the exact same thing...silly goose... you can name your tracks and then when you go into track mute you will see what is where.....awesome!

Well, that doesn't work so well. Trust me, I've tried it. Muting and unmuting tracks is not the same as hitting a pad on the fly and hearing the sample playback.

I've given up on the MPC for live use - after a month of trying everything. It's great as a sequencer and groove arranger, but I think I'll go back to Ableton (sigh) for live shows.

Maybe you just need to add another, smaller sampler to your live set (like maybe a Dr. Sample). Here's what I'm talking about:

Isn't this what everyone else does with live sets via MPC? Just bang it out, mate.

hmm.. not so sure you understood his question.
as you know, track mute will only show you names assigned to tracks, there is no 'PAD MUTE' function that will do what he wants. as nym says the only option is to go to program where you can see 4 pads at a time.

in grid edit - press SHIFT + VIEW. you can see 6 pads at once but that is the most you can get.

i wont die without it but i would definitely like to see PAD MUTE come to the JJ OS.

I think you'll need to record your tracks with only one pad used per track if you wanted to see this. Not going to hold my breath on a pad mute either
