I just installed a CD drive I got cheaply off e-bay (TEAC DW-224E-BP3, did the pin mod - flawless!), and I started wondering about this one thing; wouldn't it be great if you could play CD's during live sequencing?

I have no idea if there is a way for JJ to do this, but if there is any interest for it, give a shout in this thread. I don't want to request JJ to implement this if there is no real interest.

I have lots of ideas, but a simple way of starting the CD and adjusting volume would be great. Of course, if we are talking wishful thinking, I would love to see some kind of trigger message from within a sequence that starts up the CD at a specific point in a specified track, like a program change message, but for the CD.

Further cool things would be to have the Q-link control the pitch and volume in real time, backwards play, play CD while loading from HD/CF card, etc. But now I'm getting silly.

Anyway, should I request JJ to look into this, at least at a basic level? Yes/no?

i don't think its worth recommending

not trying to hate  but....

the OS can only be a certain amount of bytes, and there is hundreds of other useful features or just bugs in general that need to be paned out first, also depending on how the audio is routed thru the bus(es) it could be impossible,

wouldn't a possible "work around" be using a cd player with spdif and doing input thru?

Don't worry, I don't use the word "hater".

And I see you point. I want this feature for my own reasons, but I didn't think there would be a lot of interest in it, hence this thread.
