I did a search and this did not come up.
But I would like to put four drum sounds on a pad and have them play randomly or in the order I choose everytime the pad is hit or the sequencer plays the pad.

it's a cool feature, but i'd always prefer velocity switching.

here's a cool trick - turn your amp envelope all the way up on one pad w/ multiple snare layers (different sampled snares from a break) and set them to velocitatively trigger. this way you can trigger at full volume selectively based on how hard you hit them. it's not quite round robin at all, but it can achieve the same effect if you've got nimble fingers.

I would love this feature as well. Just like native instruments battery has.

Another trick sort of related as far as random velocity on a sample is to use the sample hold LFO linked to velocity for varying velocity of a sound. around 1.00 should do the trick.

??

i'm not sure i understand this. could you explain a bit more? where do you activate this in the mpc?

using sample and hold as an lfo "waveform" creates randomness. A sample and hold wave creates random instantaneous (no gradient between levels like a sin or triangle wav) level changes so if you link it to velocity then your velocity for that pad will always be a random level from 1-127 on the pad that that lfo is assigned to.

yes, but i'm still not clear how this is implemented in JJ OS. let's stick to concrete JJ OS examples so this doesn't get confusing.

by 'sample and hold', are you are referring to the RANDOM waveform present in the LFO page in PROGRAM edit?
if so, that waveform can only be assigned to pitch, filter, and level - not velocity.

otherwise, i need to know where specifically in the OS you access this 'sample and hold' lfo you are referring to and where you assign it to velocity in the OS.

Sorry, I meant "level" and not velocity.

As far as implementing the lfo randomness (sample and hold) to level:
in an instrument prog or on an individual pad in a drum program try this:
1) go into LFO screen
2) change LFO type to "Random"
3) change the rate to about 1.00 - may need to adjust depending on the length of the sample (longer rate for longer sounds or the level will change mid sound)
4) change "level" according to the amount of randomness from the original level you want the LFO to affect the sound

This will not work in all instances and is probably best for drum program sounds such as hats or snares

And more options for LFO would be great. For starters: Midi CC to lfo and another lfo in addition to the one already there for more control

there are tons of midi fx for daw that are crazy useful for stuff like this - velocity => midi cc, etc. often this is an easier process to find/use one of these rather than FRing them.

hahahha - randomly - yet in the order u choose?

heheheh thats funny

i'm gonna say some words randomly - and choose them first !

this has got to be my most wanted new feature, a modulation table, where lots of sources can be assigned to lots of destinations.
