Final Feature Requests for OS 2 (please read and contribute)

this thread is for gathering some final feature requests for OS 2 to send to JJ.

with the new OS 2XL, JJ has implemented many new features that were originally requested for OS 2.
unfortunately, in doing this he has had to remove / change/ downgrade a few important functions from OS 2.
(Q-LINK, Q-REAL, MIXER AUTOMATION, SIMULT PAD, PATTERN mode, LOOP EDIT mode, and some FILTER behavior)


this thread is for people to list a few of their top new features from OS 2XL that they would like to see added to OS 2 before JJ leaves it behind forever. a list of the new features implemented in OS 2XL is here:

in about a week or so, i will compile everyones requests and send the most popular ones to JJ.

it is not fair to ask that JJ do this for free. instead, we are proposing that:

1. this OS 2 'upgrade' would only be available to those who already purchased OS 2 XL
and / or
2. there would be another small charge to get the new features ($15-$30 or so).


some final notes:

1. only choose your feature requests from those listed in the URL above that JJ has already implemented in OS 2XL.

2. try to be realistic. JJ is almost certainly not going to add major new features like the ARPEGGIATOR, CHORD mode, or FILTER 2.

3. please no debates in this thread. if you like OS 2XL then you have no problems. this thread is for those of us who have been left behind by the new OS and feel the new features are not worth the trade-off of lost functions. we would like to see OS 2 reach it's fullest potential before being abandoned. our goal is not to trigger a new round of testing / bug-fixes / discussion for OS 2 or to divert JJ's attention from OS 2XL. OS 2 is currently mostly complete and bug-free. we would simply like to see some of the simpler and easier to implement work flow improvements from OS 2XL added to OS 2. the more people who support this now, the greater chance we have of getting JJ to do it.

Elevated already compiled a list of the top feature requests so far in the other thread. i will post that to this thread later. in the meantime, everyone can post their top requests here.

In order of importance:

1. Quantize Strength
2. Pad Event Move to Other Track
3. Normalize Level in Trim Mode

I like the XL, but it's still strange without the q-link.

In order:

1:Sequences move
2:Quantize strength
3:Normalize level.

1. Customize Numeric Key (This quickly became a Must Have for me! Try it...)
2. Pad Copy with Undo Button in Program Mode

i got chord function, its called a keyboard.. lets not get carried away again guys. gotta keep it minor or this is just a pipe dream

3.remove real time pitch shift for audio in! or allow playing during pitch shifting (so we could real time pitch shift the whole sequence via the alt 3-4 outs to go in the audio in...actually real time pitch shift is really useless (i'm talkin about the one in the audio in part...

co-sign. To hell with a chord function

1. realtime, recordable global swing control via qlink (as opposed to just note repeat).
2. improved arp functions.
3. AFTER buttons on q-link to transmit midi as well.

just to note that we are only choosing from features that JJ has already implemented in OS 2XL.
unfortunately, there's no way JJ is going to create some new stuff from scratch just for OS 2.

if we don't stick to the features JJ already has made for OS 2XL, he won't do it.
