the page was last modified feb 15, 2009. so it's not something old he left in there by mistake.

from the html code:

description: The Windows version sequencer software which the developer of JJ OS made
keywords: Sequencer,Sampler,nano PAD,MPC5000,MPC2000XL,MPC2500,MV8800,MPC1000,ADSR,Synthesizer,Roland

hmm... looks like software that runs on your desktop that allows you to create MPC sequences. could be very cool... as long as it's not Windoze only! please JJ give us a Mac version!

love the keywords: 'Roland'

nah, i bet it'll be win-dross only, JJ took ages to set up Mac download links for JJOS, and their aesthetic for fonts and layout is sooo wack, i really expect its all windows led.

but i live in hope, cos the last PC i ever had was W98.

let's see if it something like old step analog sequencer (let's hope)

Windows or Mac, either way I'm kind of shocked by this.

I know it's selfish, but I always pictured JJ only working on software for the MPC platform. Sad to admit... but expanding into computer software would probably be a wise business move for them.

(and Nym was worried about JJ wasting bandwidth on OS2!)

yep, i'm sure you're right.
heres what JJ's using to author the web pages: "Microsoft FrontPage Express 2.0" :(

wish he could code the new software in Java or something instead...

gotta agree here. JJ should get XL solid and fix the outstanding bugs in 2 (and give us our final os 2 feature requests  ) before even starting something like this. i have a feeling he might be taking on too many things at once.

...and you know this new software is going to be XL compatible only. the incompatibilities between 2 and XL make that almost certain ( NOTE ON / REALTIME / FILTER / etc... )

gotta say JJ has been all about the $$$ lately, which is fine... except when us users get screwed in the process.

no i dont think its so bad, given that if he's running a business, its either moving forward or backwards (as they say),

and he's defo got some inertia to ride, i cant see him making a living fixing bugs for OS2, or XL eventually. he's gotta get moving onwards n upwards, sounds like this is the chosen method - for now.

The feature requests thread is 29 pages long and counting.

Maybe JJ is thinking along the lines of utilizing the PC in conjunction with the MPC to knock off some of those feature requests.

Yep, I hope he makes a version for Mac.

I just got my Macbook Pro about 3 months ago.

maybe hes actually making a pc sequencer. not an interface for the mpc. all he has to do is rework the code for the windows platform and hardware set and create a gui. and presto. software mpc. and they obviously have the code. its all about making it work with another interface. mpc is basically a computer. and operates as such. and im pretty sure that the sales of os2/xl were no where nere what os1 was and this is all about money. and it always has been.

you could be right but if that's the case i can't see anything good coming of this.

first of all - that is a HUGE amount of work for a team of expert programmers, let alone 1 guy! and what is he gonna do, compete with Live, Cubase, Numerology, Reaper, Logic ??! ... those are all sequencers or have built-in sequencers. i don't know, sounds like commercial suicide... not to mention a bit outside his area of expertise.

a software mpc sequence editor, tho... that i could see happening. it would have to have some real cool features for me to be interested in it, tho.
