Sorry in advance if this has been covered. Just searched for half an hour and couldn't
find a definitive answer.

I purchased each version of the JJ Operating system as the were released (OS1, OS2 and OS2xl).
I have songs in progress on all the OS's.
Right now when I hold Tap Tempo and boot it flips between OS2xl and OS1.
How do I boot to OS2? - I need to get in there!!!!! :?:
I really need to flip between all 3 Os's... how do I do this??

Thanks

You can but I think you need to overwrite one with the other, and vice versa if you want to change back.

It takes about 30 seconds (if that), so no it's not too much of a pain. My intention was to buy XL and then switch to 2, but i've stuck with XL.

Wanna do same thing, but not stick to XL, I prefere improves of OS 2 (pan on sliders, simult pad...) than XL's, especially they don't work perfectly (fade in/out...) - I heard - and need a pong game on my mpc... (ok last point is kind of joke...).

What do you think about XL ? Why are you stickin' with it ?

switching: it's inconvenient, but eh...i have been meaning to go back to os2 to grab some stuff that doesn't transfer over and make it an audio track for reworking use in reaper/os2xl. i'll probably load it back up for a week for that purpose, and then 2xl will be that much sweeter when i go back to it.

I'm only just over a month deep into it, but already I think it is a great OS. I've got a lot to learn but because I came from the 2kxl it has meant that the Akai manual hasn't even come out of the plastic wrapper yet... probably wont either. I'm learning it by trial and error, and occaisional trips to the JJ website to look at the online manual, but so far i'm doing ok.

If you've got the 2500 then the customize of main and numeric keys gives you 11 assignable buttons, which I love. I also love the Trim screen and what you can do in it with assigning samples and the different ways of chopping. Everything just seems more streamlined and intuitive.

I've only scraped the surface with XL but I would highly recommend you try the demo to see how you get on.

Hmmm, I'll probably give it a try... But pan on Q-links was so great... And don't care about ARP, Normalizer going over 100% is bulls****t... and there's bugs... Kind of afraid about gettin in a bugged OS, unfinished OS... that's why I'm waiting for an update... Will it come a day ?...

Which buttons ? What did you assigne to it ? (need examples to get it)

I have all the main functions assigned to the numeric keys... eg, program to number 1, load - 2, save - 3, sample - 4, trim - 5... you get the idea. Most of my assignments were default but I did change a few. The main key is set to grid edit, but you can tailor the button assignments to how you want them.

JJ releases bug fixes every month or so, so don't worry about bugs. I don't know where you are getting your information from, but if it is all from here then you need to filter some of it out.
