Hey,

Just wanted to get some idea on what people consider to be their favourite flavour of JJOS. Please include some further info on your choice if you have the time/energy. Also, are you using a 1K or a 2K5? Thanks.

PS: I did search this forum before making this poll.. Didn't find anything related.

Yeah JJOSXL all the way. I am not so impressed with bigscreen but time will tell. No CC to filter has turned me right off as i use that all the time on my 1000.
Why ? Chord bank, pattern to pad, NDC, ect ect

128xl. best feature set for DAW integration/midi composition, most fully featured sampling engine, best chopping functionality/workflow.

and screen size. it really helps in some windows (namely grid edit) to be able to see more of what's going on in complex tracks.

I'm pretty new with both the 1000 and 2500.
I haven't taken the Jj plunge yet, I figured I
Should learn the stock basics first ,plus I really want see
A difference when I do switch.
This is a great thread for those who are unsure of
Which Jj to purchase , not knowing much about the
Machine and looking at the Jj comparison charts, I gotta
Be Honest , I don't even know what some a that sh!t is.
So it's cool to see Real Deal opinions on the different versions.
Nice idea for a post

i still need to try the xlcd ones though, but im gonna wait until after i finish the album im working on.

jjos is phenomenal compared to akai os. i probalby still wouldnt even use my mpc if it only had akai OS

correct me if im wrong...

but doesnt the free version 'not' save?

You can save with the free version.

The paying version is free to download and use, but you cannot save with it, you need to buy a password for that.

XL is the best hands down.
-most features
-JJ worked on it the longest
-ease of use

Bigger screen doesn't mean better OS just look at the REN with a CPU monitor and people are complaining like you wouldn't believe.

I loaded up OSXL today to try it out. It seems so much different that the free JJOS I've been using for so long now, felt like starting from scratch again. I am 100% positive the extra features are worth the update, but I am hesitant. Is the learning curve very steep?

Pretty much decided on this one if I do upgrade instead of the 128XL, I am pretty content with the small screen.
