I would love to have a function in the jj os that would allow you to turn on a ''mpc 60'' type of midi implimentation. ie - your mpc 1000 would actually sound more like a older mpc and have that mpc swing!? I think that would be cool.....just throwing that out there.....anybody? Superbad? I'm just throwing it out there? Ha. So you think it could work?

or you could turn on the "ipod"-mode and it can read mp3 and m3u-playlist files. or play nes-games. that would be awsome!

I make swinging beats on my sp404, that doesn't even have the swing option.

Well i own a mpc 60II and when I program the drums they sound a lil different and I read in a article when they made the older mpc's they got a little lazy in the ,idi programing so there was a different feel to it. Has anybody else heard this?

Load of bs. I have owned many different MPCs and can make the same beats on all of them. If you can't make beats on the MPC1K - especially with the new JJ Operating Systems and all of the editing functions they offer - then it's definitely not the machine.

Any beat can be recreated on the MPC1K. Study some of your favorite tracks. Try to find out which samples were used and recreate them to learn different techniques for chopping, placement, layering, swing, etc, etc.
