uhhhh! Midi is f"cked up again 4.99b

I just had the same issue with the last version. I plug my fantom into the 1000 using both midi cables. My fantom set to slave-midi/sync output on/tempo override on.
I have the 1000 set to Master Midi clock sending MMC "Midi machine control. Active track channel 1/soft thru off.

I was working with some sounds off the fantom and got to about the 3rd track. I began recording a pulsing sound on the 1st note off the 1st bar and the doesn't pulse on the 1st note it just makes a very short sound of the note. When I hit stop the sound is reverberating out of sync. When I try to play it back the 1st note is short and the others are just fine. What the hell is going on? I upgraded and reset the os and for 2days its been fine. JJ please don't give up on os1 just yet. This bug is driving me crazy holmes.

you aren't maxing your polyphony by any chance are you?

You know what I thought about that and honestly I haven't checked that out yet but Im sure that's not the issue.

I have my fantom and other keyboards set up to where any synth sound or any sound that pulsates will do so according to the tempo of my sequence so if the sound has a bounce it will bounce to the tempo of the song. This is also malfunctioning because as Im recording and I notice its bugging out, I'll hit stop and the sound is still being triggered off tempo!

if you're syncing the clocks, try inserting a couple blank bars at the beginning of your sequence, and let those play before it starts triggering anything

see if that makes a difference

just to rule it out though, check your polyphony usage in the OTHER screen while you play the sequence

can you tell me the name of the preset you are using on fantom?

It doesn't matter what sound it is. When I get to my lab tomorrow I'll list the specific sound Im using but its been doing it with any sound as long as the 1st note is being recorded on the 1st count of the 1st bar. The 1st note is the only note effected by this glitch. Its extremely noticeable but more so with synths and pulsing sounds but the 1st time It happened was with a piano sound. I've changed the midi settings on both the keyboard and the MPC and still Bullsh%t!

Again: do you have anything selected in the "pc" field on the main screen?

I always turn the Program change off when I record. I turn the program off, change the track channel from drum to midi. Today after work im going to the laboratory so I'll be able to get into in more detail later.

Yo its ya boy! Im at the spot and the sound is in the techno synth patch and its the electrostars sound. This particular sound goes off 3times but when recorded and played back the only the first sound plays all others sound just fine.

I have a 4bar sequence the bpm is 78 and Im inputing the sound only on the 1st count of the 1st bar, 3rd count and 4th bar. I powered up and this shit is driving me crazy because right off the bat its still doing it.

I also just found that when I turn the metronome on for my keyboard and hit play on the MPC, the metronome plays back off tempo compared with the Mpc tempo. I figure that whatever the issue is, its the midi. I've tried every possible setting combination on both the fantom and the mpc. I've reloaded the Os and done a reset and still no fix.

Yo I checked my voice monitor and yo, without even playing anything There are 2bars at the very end of my voice monitor and the number 2 is displayed at the far left. Is this a glitch it has to be. I thought the only time the voice monitor jumps is when something is being played.

I was thinking the same thing.

I do have input thru on but what does that have to do about the voice monitor having those 2 bars at the end. More importantly, Is this the issue with my sounds not syncing correctly? Ive always had the input thru on and never had this issue before. it just happened 1day

input thru counts as one stereo voice I suppose -- I never actually realized that and kind of wondered my polyphony meter always displayed 2 as well


but yo, have you tried adding a few blank bars in front of the sequence yet? the metronome thing you mentioned seems like the clocks aren't having enough time to properly sync up. give a few blank bars see if that helps

also, go into your keyboard settings and try turning local control off
