i wonder what akai is thinking,

about jj and his os',

A while back the Akai representative posting in the MPC5000 forum said he was waiting until he was able to comment about the JJ OS.
Everyone was speculating as to what that might be, but it looks like hes not been posting for a while.

it would be interesting for the community and for the users.........

I can tell you what AKAI thinks..

They think: Great ! There`s a guy who`s solving all our Problems,keeps up the hype about our maschines and he`s not even on our payroll

Since the AKAI OS is free anyway, the dont loose money.
So what the hell..

It's not free, they pay to develop it and the cost of it is factored into the cost of the machine, they just don't say "$40 for the OS" -- you have no choice but to pay for it.

I thought it was going to make akai step up there O.S. game. But I guess it obviously all comes down to profit. It would be cool if JJ and Akai would go into an O.S. making battle so that they could maybe bring the best out in eachother as far as O.S. building capabilites for the machine. But JJ seems like a very driven individual who doens't need to benifit from that factor anyway. If Akai does say anything about it I'm sure it will be corporate B.S. Boo! Akai... Boo! Boooooooo!

look.. of course the akai os is developed by some people working at akai, who want to be paid, but since they cannot sell the maschines without it, you dont really pay for the OS itself, right..?

same, you could argue, that when you buy a TV, the Remote also has to be paid for, but of what use is a tv without remote ?

back in my day we had no remotes..etc.. who even cares jj rocks, and makes the OS for the musician whereas Akai just makes the machine , their OS skills are not as detailed so we pay JJ he deserves it.Here's to a JJOS3,4,5,6 I wonder if I could mod this with a 22 inch color lcd.. yeah now that would be a dope OS..JJ if ur listening ?

He already worked/works for Akai....

What is Akai thinking? Thanks JJ for supporting our product and increasing sales to the MPC 1000/2500 while we put our resources into the MPC 5000.

What if this Jj kat is really from akai on the DL

I dont know what akai is thinking, but what they should be thinking is
what if this person, or group people decide to produce their own line of
machines. it would put a huge dent the market that they seems to be
at top of. so we better make sure that the machines we continue manufacture, are stable and loaded with features that every can appreciate.

The ball is coming full speed and when they swing that bat the next time, they need to make home run.

I believe that you can only ride on the success of your prior products but for long.
