Chopin Samples on the MPC1000

IS there an easier way to chop a sample at a certin point after its been recorded .... The JOG wheel takes to long and to manually put the start time takes forever.....I just got the mpc 1000/...I used to have the 4000 and it had a start- stop option to chop a certin parts of a sample ....can anyone help me out with this....

did you get the free one or did you pay the 30$ ... Im a pro at the 4000. but my roomate sold it 4months ago . but i just got the 1000 (more affordable)and im trying to get it down .. but the only thing im haveing trouble with is chopin up samples _ does the OS have the start-end feature for making easier to get the sample on point insteat of the wheel taht takes forever to get to a certin point.....thanks alot ..

Just above the mpc I dropped a little R.T.F.M. in there for Lampdog and distorteds benefit. Maybe its a good thing i dont have photoshop cause id probably waste hours on it!
