NEw OS not installing

I just downloaded the JJOS to my mpc1 card and i turnd it off held the window button then the Rec button the mpc says.....new OS not Found will load in 5sec...what iam i doing wrong

Im trying the free os first then ill update the other ones but I cant get the first one to work .... No suggestions?

did you try turning on your mpc, going to the load menu and loading the new OS from there?

which os are you trying to install, and what os are upgrading from? if it's the os2, and you haven't bought os1, then it will not show up.

Is the file named "mpc1000_jv308.bin" in root of that mpc1 card?

Yes it is its the first OS ive ever installed ////////I went to the MPC Akai pro and downloaded their new OS to see if it was JJ file I was having a problem with but no the new OS from AKAi web site wont work either ....When i hold the window button down it does say it is checkin the Disk ... but it says no "A New OS wasnt found will start with currnt os in 5 sec" then it start up normally

I should also say this is a brand new mpc just bought it on monday.. could something be wrong with it .. or is something im doing...

tosh79 : it IS in the root directry if i go to load i could see that file in there.

you've caught me at a very, very busy time. i'll catch up when i can. in the meantime, there are plenty of folks who know their sh!t right here. best of luck, i hope to catch up sooner than later.

Compare the filesize of the .bin on your CF card, with the one on JJ's homepage - maybe the Download didn't finish at 100%, so the file is corrputed... if it's not, try:

- formatting / using another CF Card
- resetting the MPC to default settings. (Hold ERASE befor switching it on)

That's all I know for now. Which AKAI OS version are you currently using?

I just bought it Im currntly using the oS that came with it originally....The file size is identical....to the one on the web page the disk s formated right ...if i go to the load screen then the disk ..select to view all files the file is in there and the size is correct... I have done nothing to the MPC i got it 5 days ago at the guitar center brand new...

I think Im just going to return it ...today..

this is what I was going to suggest as well, re-formatting and re-downloading the OS file foremost.

also, it might be a long shot and is probably not going to help, but try disconnecting the USB cable

(by the way, is it necessary to hold Window *and* Record? I thought all you had to hold was the Window key while booting up)
