except some problems with loading OS2 files.

track velocity (in main window) for OS2 files is 0% (which i wish would mean OFF - or by default would be set to 100%). if value is changed it is impossible to change back to 0%, value can be set only between 1-200%... not sure if this really matters unless 0% equals to OFF.

JJ just fixed that with a tiny update today:

put the cursor over the PAD column in GPE in the SAMPLE screen & hit WINDOW.

and where is simult pad?

same place it was in OS 2. in the LFOMUTE screen.

explore your world.

thanks a lot

but i have to say this bad, no sample layers from main page?

come on jj

you could never put multiple layers on a pad from the main page, both the MAIN main page or the main page of GPE.

because of simult, SAMPLE LAYERS are less emphasized in JJos than in AKAI os's. with SIMULT, you get multiple filter options/envelope options per pad. per layer, you have only the option of different levels. SIMULT is superior in every way to sample layers, especially now that they are recorded individually.

kinda finding it a little buggy... just been having trouble where one sequence - when pushing the bpms toward 200 - the location bar (the thing that goes left to right to show you what beat is playing) stalls just before reaching the 4th bar = by the time youre at 205 its stalling in the same place, but by the time it kicks back in again its at the 2nd bar - by the time youre at 210bpm the machine is stuck and wont respond (but continures to play the loop.
strangely - another sequence in the same project file can go all the way up to 300bpm.. perhaps because in the 'problem sequence' i have a higher polyphony? only using drum tracks in both sequences...

also had the mp hang when playing a instrument track - holding down a pad and pressed bank B and it was fine - continuing to hold pad and pressing bank C caused hang - mp continued playing last note played.

anyone else finding little glitches as they push the OS?

Will start to use it very soon since I have to do a liveshow in 2 weeks. Mmmm I hope it's stable enough otherwise I have to use the old Akai again since OS 1 en 2 don't have track mute inverted colors which is very confusing for me.

had this occur once too, couldn't figure out what was causing it

yep. i get this all time and i have been noticing it is a little worse in OS 2XL. i don't think it's a 'bug' necessarily, just a sign of the increased cpu usage of OS 2 and now OS 2XL seems to be even heavier on the cpu. the extra filters are probably partially to blame.

i'm under the impression that these should be treated as bugs and reported when possible with as specific instructions on reproduction (example projects help)

because similar things have been solved before - they're not necessarily a sign of a fatigued processor so much as something that needs looking at.

right now i'm working with an inst pgm and maxed polyphony on a project.
no hanging notes on this inst pgm, yet. i hope to have them happen so i can begin to pin down what it is.

Nym: i could get to layers from main with a push of window, thats what i ment

Anybody realized the bug the mute groups dont work?
I didnt make a research about it just found one mute group that didnt work
It is okay if i just hit the pads one after another but in thosent work in the sequence

Anybody?

rare: come to think of it i, too, would rather have LAYER access from WINDOW over the sample on the main page instead of SAMPLE LIST.

you can achieve the same thing as SAMPLE LIST just by scrolling, but to get LAYER adjustment you must go to GPE

i wouldn't have noticed/agreed with you though because if i'm doing any program level changes i'm doing it in GPE to begin with.

kind of embarrasing... but i saved over my problem program by accident .. so im no help...
are you interested in me pm'ing over the program with the bpm glitch? if youre too busy however, then thats absolutely fair enough. :)

Anybody else faced some mutegroup issues?
Bytheway i found a new
Mutegroup didnt work so i put the pgm to mono
I had a long sample on 1:0:0 and another that cuts it at 1:3:0
Even if the cutting samples track where muted my first sample stopped!!

Come on jj!

fixed - i found the problem program by the following process:
load project - solo track - push bpm up until mpc crashes.

program was an 'inst' on a 'drum' track - changing the program to mono stopped mpc crashing at +210bpm

so, is this a bug i can report? i've not done that before. i have a project file i can send.

New bug?

from main screen double tap a kick drum (something like a third of a beat apart or less) - press main - double beats are displayed in grid edit - hold shift f3 (view) - double beats no longer displayed, only sinlge beats remain. - you have to put them back in in 'view' mode for them to stay for good.

it seems as though os2's ability to apply shift in the 'visual step edit mode' (view in os2xl) hasnt carried through to os2xl, resulting in beats getting dropped rather than having shift applied.

this is a real pain for me as i love tweaking my beats timing in 'view' mode. A LOT. and having half of them dissapear and have to manually input them back in in view mode is a pain.

do we need a 2xl bug thread?
