QUANTIZE STRENGTH

Nym, have you ever directly requested this feature from JJ and got a response?

the other night, i reported one of the very few last bugs i have been able to find

and i included my "final three" addition suggestions and a justification for the three
i acknowledged that there were dozens of FRs jj has received
i asserted that from my viewpoint, these would be among (if not THE) most powerful additions to the MPC's current strengths

(this is a tangent and i'd very much prefer to keep this thread about QUANTIZE STRENGTH but here goes)

1 - quantize strength

2 - sample loop crossfade for ALTLOOP and LOOP (perhaps undoable w/out a polyphony increase, but this would be massive for what i and others do)

3 - small addition in SEQ EDIT/DURATION: increase duration TO NEXT NOTE. (i see this one as a nice workaround for "AHDSR" because it doesn't lock you into a H, yet can force a chopped sample to last up until the next note while still being editable. it's like a MONO program, but even better because you can screw around with Release w/out it being snipped by the MONO)

no response yet from jj. i'm so happy at this point that these won't kill me, but they're still fantastic features that are inter-relative and would dramatically explode my workflow.

Quantise strength is definately a helpful option. It really offers
keeping your rhythms sound more natural than forcing the timing
to exact values. The Ensoniq ASR-X has this feature.

As NYM noticed, this actually doesn't need much calculating power.
It would actually suffice to have this option "after recording".
So CPU power won't be the limiting factor.

I like to see this feature in a future update.

I always have the urge of playing my hihats without TC and all good in one take! So i almost never lay it down in one take. always gotta hit multiple takes.. guess this would be time saving and i would be keeping that bees80 groove

This is the number one feature I've always wanted, because I move my notes manually achieving the same sort of effect this feature would encompass......having this sure would save me alot of time.

ye time to put it in the os, would be great when playing bass

yeah i cannot express how much this would help me. it's another thing where, coming from where i am now, i would have expected to have been in MPCs since the beginning were i approaching them from a blind perspective

Good thread...I never use tc because it always feels so rigid...but if you could literally control the boundary between your timing and timing correct timing...I would be much more apt to use it...I agree jjos could use this feature...

I'm right there with you, I haven't used the quantize since I figured out how to turn it off.......I just keep on the pads till I get it right. But if I had this feature I would most deff turn it back on .

Yeah,
I use the quantize strength when using FL. When full quantize is too rigid and no quantize is to sloppy this is definitely a happy medium. I can't understand why MPC's didn't always have this, or at least implement it around the time of the 2000xl.

No quantize is only as sloppy as the person who's usein it.

I myself have no prob.

^ agreed, of course, but having QUANTIZE STRENGTH at like 15-25% (very gentle) would be an asset to ANY "TC OFF" style user.
