P.S. Keep up the good work JJ. You are the MPC savior.

I see what you're trying to say man but no one is ganging up on JJ because he is trying to give us an optional MPC software sequencer, we are upset because he gave us an unfinished OS2XL, my bad he didn't give us anything, we PAID for an unfinished OS2XL. Now instead of correcting the bugs that are left in OS2XL and making certain features work properly and that it is stable (which should never be a feature of an OS) he is developing a software sequencer that I can't remember anyone on the board ever requesting and if someone did request it they certainly didn't mean stop all support for the existing OS' to do it. After he finishes OS2XL, JJ can knock him self out and try his hand at the software sequencer, that's great and I would honestly consider buying it just for the sake of supporting JJ in his continued efforts because he's already done so much for us but I will not support him if he is selling incomplete OS'. It's like if you bought a car from "XYZ" company and it kept breaking down because of manufacturer defects and the company never offered to do a re-call to correct the problems but now they're introducing their new year model car, would you be excited about buying it? I wouldn't....

P.S. JJ should get back to work on OS2XL because he IS the MPC savior and always has been and I still believe he can do it without software...

you claim to have been lurking these forums for years, yet you don't even know the story behind the whole JJ situation.

FACT: JJ was the assistant to the main programmer working on the Akai OS for the MPC 1000 before it was released. both JJ & the main programmer were working under contract for Akai. at this time, Akai was having all sorts of financial problems and went bankrupt, yet they told JJ & his boss "we don't have your money right now, but keep working on the OS & we'll pay you soon". JJ & his boss kept working for a while and yet months later Akai still hadn't paid them, so they both quit & took the source code with them. the legality of who actually has the rights to the code has never been settled in court. they were producing it under contract for Akai, but Akai never paid them for it so that would seem to render the contract void. who knows?

either way, JJ's boss went on to other jobs and JJ decided to complete & release the code himself later on when he saw the potential to make some money (especially when he saw all the complaints that the official Akai OS was getting. the OS that Akai eventually released with the MPC 1000 was essentially incomplete & had some serious bugs, since they had to finish it without their 2 main programmers who knew the code best)... and thus the JJ OS was born.

the JJ OS is a one man operation, but he does have an assistant (Murai) who answers the emails & forwards requests & bug reports to JJ.

 Fail...
MPC 1200's don't exist. I think it's now time that you stop making up stories...

I'm sorry I stand correted MPC 2000.

Please state where you got that from, because I learned about this forum recently, six months recent.

I have used the MPC for many years and spoke to Akai's customer support for years.

LOL. You really are clueless. Since JJ doesn't seem to address bugs when they get submitted through his form anymore, maybe you could be so kind as to have him look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=77423&start=450

that info was posted on this site within the last year, i believe in the mpc 5000 forum (in a huge thread right around the time the 5000 was coming out), and it's straight from an akai representative that was posting there and another person who had knowledge of the situation.

I have spoke to Akai's customer support for years.

you have my sympathies.

I will admit JJ fell into the same trap Akai was trying to avoid. Bugs due to the over exertion the software is doing to the hardware.

Lets see today Ive been called, so many name I would'nt dare repeat.

They do have a names for many of you who called me names, but I will let your mental evaluator tell you your name.

Wow. Numark are a bunch of deadbeat douchebags. Thanks for the link.

PS

JJ, ditch the PC sequencer shenanigans and get back to work on JJOS.

i think the issue is... JJ is straying away from a world where nobody else is making a product (mpc OS) to a world where there are hundreds of companies making a product (DAW/digital sequencers).

why would anyone pick that over the existing music software apps? Not only do most do the same things, but they look visually better too. If JJ wanted to do something new, he should have made an alternate OS for the 1000 and 2500 that offer different varieties of features aimed at different music styles or something like that... nobody is going to shell out money for something that looks like it was made for windows 3.1 this day and age especially when you can get torrents of nuendo and fl studio for free let alone audacity.

i could be wrong but i think the major selling point of JJSEQ is supposed to be the fact that it somehow lets you simultaneously work with the MPC and edit your sequences with the application. while this is a nifty little addition assuming he's able to make it look less awful and everything, this program is still by NO means a reason to abandon JJ OS, which has infinitely more potential.

one thing that JJ or whoever needs to realize, is the notion of "software making MPCs/hardware" obsolete is never going to happen in the same sense of guitar players playing vintage old guitars instead of shiny new ones. so, don't fret, there is a budding generation of future MPC users ready to discover and buy JJ OS.

Well for starters he can fix what ever has made my MPC crash about 4-5 times in the past 1-2 months. That may not sound like much to you but it is to me considering I can't remember my MPC ever crashing with OS1 or OS2, hell I can't even remember the free OS crashing on me as much as OS2XL. It is unstable, it's almost still a beta version with a lot of tweeks that still need to be made.

Don't get me wrong, OS2XL is still a good OS but it is not complete, that's all I'm saying, that's pretty much what everyone is saying and for JJ to just start working on a whole new project with this software sequencer and act like he's done with OS2XL is just not fair to us long time supporters. If we support JJ on this software sequencer after he leaves us hanging with OS2XL how can we possibly expect JJ to give us great customer support and products in the future, I mean after all we're still supporting him after he gave us poor support and an unfinished product. Why would anyone put all their time and effort into giving you a great product when they already know that you'll pay them regardless even if they give you a half-assed product? It's like you wouldn't give your dog a scooby snack right after he took a s#!t on you carpet right? You can't reward someone that doesn't do what's right.

The MPC's OS is what maketh the machine.
The MPC with JJOS will be sought after in years to come, due to having JJOS on it and the fact that it is a standalone hardware unit, devoid of the need for a PC.

So now evil A Sulli, tell me which you think is more important for JJ to be working on; JJOS or JJ sequencer?

I know you're going to come up with some excuse, but how plain and simple can it be to understand? The mpc as a single-entity is more important to be working on when you're the only one with a monopoly on the code, than another PC app.

And perlease... in answer to some of your other posts, I have a 120 gig hard drive in my mpc, there are bugs and improvements to be made with JJOS2XL and lol at JJSeq being best sequencer.
