Did JJ say thank you for making my program 20% better?

no :x

 lol. I feel you man, I just don't let little things break my stride. Been through way too much.

I'll put it like this... I now have a portable MPC 500/1k/25k file player/editor thanks to JJ.

I can play a sequence and record "What I hear" using Sound Forge on the go.

I can't be mad at that.

Well let me say thank you because your suggestion was well needed...man I wish I could of enjoyed it like you...

Hey, that Sony device you have is wicked...OMG...I want one...I might have to buy a ski mask to get one...hehe j/k

You can always go back to the Akai OS....who cares if JJ doesnt send a thank you for a f*cking vase with roses for the ideas...ideas get bagged all the time...its not that serious...

Let me hear some of your beats and if I get famous off of your joint...you re not going to get homage. I understand rule number four thousand eighty(4080) and I don't agree with it.

So give me a link with your best beat, so I can remix it; if its hotter, then the beat is mine Ok. One of my specialties is remixes.

This is about more than just ideas its about respecting the craft.

Bro your analogy was straight wack. Its software! Furthermore have you ever seen the manual?....I dont think dude is even fluent in English. Did you ever stop to think that if an email was sent to him that he didn’t understand he would delete it? Sh*t I would….or maybe dude gets bombed with requests…who knows…have you ever tried dealing with Akai? I do know that when I had my first 1k the password didn’t work and I sent him an email and he worked with me via email for about an hour until we got it right. When I got my new 1k I got my password right away and everything was fine. You’re pissed about ideas…ideas that aren’t all that amazing or original. ITS SOFTWARE…almost EVERY piece of software you are using TODAY is in some way or another version of another piece of software. On top of that JJ is offering a SERVICE…he doesn’t HAVE to say “thank you MPC forum members…thank you for buying gear with a sh*t OS so I can charge a few bucks and make a full time gig out of keeping it running”….GTFO

The JJ os works all the time…every time…that’s all that matters to me…

and respecting the craft....hahahaahh cmon man...you think Akai respects the craft? You think any large companies that provide the gear/software gives a phuck about the craft....its BIZ homie...

For real, this is some of the dumbest shit i've read on here in awhile.

That analogy is soooo wrong, dude. Did you even re-read it after you typed?? No one sent jj an improved, aftermarket AKAI MPC Operating System that he 're-mixed' to become famous, as your post suggests.

What do you want? a $.000001 royalty check sent to everyone who gave a suggestion to jj?

Like dude said above:

The work that JJ has done on the JJOS and the patches/fixes/additions over the years have been very much appreciated. I don't know how long you've had JJOS evil, but maybe you showed up at the wrong time, since JJseq came on the scene. You should have seen how it was before the dreaded JJseq came about; patches/fixes/additions based on feedback from people on this forum were much more frequent.
He listens to what people say. In the past he's replied to emails from me to say my found bug would be fixed in the next patch, and I know others on this forum have had a similar experience.

JJOS for the mpc1000 and mpc2500 is amazing!

Nuff sedd.

I've received a thank you from JJ. Here's an email I sent to him on 7/27/2007:

Hello,

I have a feature request for the MPC OS's: Non-Destructive Chopping.

It would be nice if a single WAV file could store more than one set of Cue Points which could be referenced independently. Since WAV files already have the ability to store multiple loop points (see http://www.sonicspot.com/guide/wavefiles.html#smpl), you just need to increase the "Num of Sample Loops" as well as the "List of Sample Loops" in the "smpl" chunk to account for the extra "Chop" Cue Points in the WAV file.

Each "Chop" would just be a different Cue Point ID within the List of Sample Loops in the "smpl" chunk. The first set of Cue points would remain as the Cue Points which are referenced by any other MPC without the ability to utilize the extra Chops.

To account for this, a single field would have to be added to each Sample Layer of a pad to specify which "Chop" to reference when playing the sample.

Example Program Screen: http://www.mikefeedback.com/images/MPCC ... amMode.bmp

Also, a "Chop" field would need to be added to the Trim screen so that you could adjust the start and end points of each "Chop" independently.

Example Trim Screen: http://www.mikefeedback.com/images/MPCChop/TrimMode.bmp

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about this idea.

-Mike.

Here's the response I got back from JJ on 7/28/2007:

"Non-Destructive Chopping."
It knows that this affair has become the center of attention by the MPC forum.
The preparation for this changed the TRIM screen.
The upper right of a screen is vacant in order that it may carry out like the screen of TRIM which you sent.

However, in order to add a new function, there are many problems.
Example.

1.A not yet realizable request exists.
2.There is a bug which has not been corrected yet.
3.OS memory space for a new function is insufficient.
4.Compatibility with old OS.
Although the screen of MODE+PAD7 is made like your proposal.
Many change is required for MODE+PAD11.
If a user interface is changed, many claims It generates.
It is very difficult to add a new function, maintaining compatibility.
5. A user's voice
A new function is unnecessary.Correct a bug! .
Don't change a user interface frequently! .
Don't delete a certain function now!
It is an addition troublesome to those who do not use CHOP.
6. The technical problem of software.

I have to take these things into consideration.
Much time is required to realize.
It may be unrealizable after all.
It is under thought now.
Therefore, it is impossible whether it is realizable of a reply.

Thank you for the format information on a WAV file.
It was helpful.
JJ

non-destructive chop was added not too long after I got that response back and it works exactly how I suggested.

My analogy goes right to the heart of the problem, which is you work hard for your intellectual properties and you are not going to give it out to just anyone.Chances are you will give it to someone who you trust and will do it justice and you will get paid in return.

Service...,more like self-ish service...

For ever suggestion is a bit harsh because some things could be suggested just to get paid. Also one billionth of a dollar is way to cheap.

Lets pretend in a prefect world JJ say's"Ok I want 10 people on the forums to work closely with me for the development of our software".One year later they come up with pure perfection-I mean the program is a beast.

In the deal, the MPC forums gets paid one dollar and another dollar gets split up ten ways. If the software sells one million copies at $62.00 or 102.00 (notice two dollars to cover the payout), ten people will get one hundred thousand dollars and the forums gets a million.

A win win, if you ask me.

Did he say thank you?

Now I'm not trying to get people paid off the MPC software-just the PC joint.

What I'm trying to do is positive. Look at my post again, and you will see I'm trying to let JJ know the people need to bless your software for it to be sellable. People can't co sign for the JJ sequencer in its present state.Why...

One of my reasons is the direction the program is going in. Sooty G has been on point with this.JJ is not used to the PC interface and it shows.JJ is wasting time thinking he can make a really good marketable PC product by himself.

All Muri or JJ has to do is take less, which is more. Rummaging around for ideas here and ideas there is inefficient. They are putting the whole project at risk...for what...chasing two extra million dollars, when you stand a better chance of getting 60 million working with people.

You crying just to cry homie. Its Software.....

How am I crying when I'm trying to help JJ the forums and its members. I just played Beaterator and they take the drum sequence and track it out as a wave. This is not about ideas it's about us working together.

poundaproblem wrote:But thats the thing...nobody really asked you.

True, just like nobody asked you to post here, but I do appreciate it good or bad.
You don't have to be one of the "ten" to get paid a hundred thousand dollars.

My two cents, that nobody asked for gave us 3 to 4 versions of the JJ Sequencer in one months time.

poundaproblem wrote:Things are fine the way they are man..

If people are telling you get new artists on your beats and get song writing credits are you going to say no.

People are telling JJ he has to come correct if he wants the MPC forums to bless his product.
