I also though that maybe the JJOS' might stop with OS2XL. With every new OS that JJ released there was always some major fearture(s) added (along with other not so major but usefull features)...
Free OS: Grid edit, different interface making the overall workflow better, etc.
OS1: Simult pad, 8 audio tracks, MIDI Grid Edit, etc.
OS2: Non destructive chop, ADSR (Amp/Filter/Pitch), Track Mixer, Programs for Musical Instruments, etc.
OS2XL: "CHORD" feature, Arpeggiator, "Strength" added to Timing Correct, etc.
These are just some things that stand out to me (my bad if messed up on any of them) as big/very usefull features (althought I don't use all of them) that JJ gave us with his OS's. What features do you guys think would be big/usefull enough that JJ would consider developing an OS3 for but also big/usefull enough that we would gladly pay for? There's no point for JJ to develope an OS3 if he can't included everything that makes all of the previous OS' great and also add a few more major features. If there are no new features worth adding JJ might as well just fix any bug that are left in OS2XL and add any features that might have been left out from OS1 and OS2 that people miss and just call it a day.
(I think the following was already suggested as a feature by someone else)
One thing that would be a big plus for me (probably not possible though) would be if a temporary .wav file could be created and played from the Load menu everytime you went to the Load menu to preview sounds. Whatever sequence you were in at the time you went into the Load menu would be the one temporarily created as a .wav, once you went back to your sequence the temporary file would be earased and a new one would be created once you went back to the Load menu after you made changes, changed sequences, etc.
I know you can't preview sounds from patter/song mode but you can create .wav files and save them to your card/harddrive and play them from Load menu so there is a slight chance that a .wav of a sequence could be automatically created for temporary playback in the Load menu giving you just enough to go off of so you can find the right sounds before loading them to your sequence. Another thing that would be helpfull would be if you could preview your sounds in Load menu in reverse while you listen to the temporary .wav (just a little added bonus).
What other big feature is needed?
