one thing i gotta work on is if it doesn't sound smooth no matter what i do, i gotta remember to just own it and make it work.
lots of stuff sounds AWESOME when it isn't perfect, sometimes even better when it isn't perfect...maybe not at first as you'er chopping and looping, but later as you compose other stuff.

hard to plan perfect imperfection but sometimes i'ts better to work smooth speed than to work with slow precision.

Exactly. That's why I don't really trip over sample stretching or pitchshifting not sounding perfect. Most of the time after I've done whatever it is I do to flip the sample (eq, add effects, chopped it up, layered, etc.) and then add other sounds/samples to comlete the beat, the sample ends up sitting in the mix in a way that whatever imperfection there was at first is now unnoticeable and if it is still noticeable then it just becomes part of the completed tracks overall sound (as long as the imperfection isn't distracting and taking away from the over all sound of course).
