If you can make an image of the CD and put it up, I can test it in my 2500. I have a OS2XL and a CD drive (and a big screen on the way). That way we can be sure its not just your machine.

The contents of the CD Rom I am viewing is sorted alpha-numerically regardless of the file type. This happens using the JJOS or an MPC running an Akai OS. If you move the same files to a CF card, than my 2500 w/JJOS sorts the files alphabetically according to file type.

But you guys are getting away from the issue (non-issue for some I suppose). There is no 'View' param like most other MPCs which is useful for filtering what you want to see in the load menu. No need to beat a dead horse any further. This is just an observation of a user with 15 years experience on various model MPCs.

I can see that the intent is to point out a feature lacking in jjos, however you can scroll through 240 files in a single rotation while holding the shift button. That could be about 500 files per second if anyone else is worried about the absence of View.

no mpc in front of me right now to test this but.. are all the pads used to preview sample when in load mode..i cant remember exactly how that works

but maybe top half of the pads could be used as search filters..

ie. pad 13 shows all, pad 14 shows programs, pad 15 - sequences etc..

not that i really see no search/filter feature as a shortcoming - but maybe could slot in that way? just a thought

My MPC 2500XL has plenty of real estate on the LCD. Most of the screen is not used in this mode. So my feature request is to bring back the "View" in order to enable filtering of files. By adding this param, you still have over 50% of empty space on the LCD to add additional functions.
