Yes.

Yep, on or off. This covers the essential AHD for removing pops/clicks and also synth type AHDSR.

That's only part of the story with the 4K though...

You can get under the hood by feeding the ADR independently through the Mod Matrix, which quickly takes things from the sublime to the ridiculous. With a bit of imagination you could end up with a chain that only Sally could dream up... minus the joysticks.

Apparently there's also presets for the amp envelope such as 'piano' and 'string' accessible through AKsys, but I haven't checked that out. 8)

Yes.

Thx, I thought so. This alone makes it one of a kind MPC.

The Ren/Studio can also record Amp envelope automation.

Yeah Jah, I'm aware of that any hardware-software combo can do that, even MPC1000 with plug-in-enviroment or rack sampler. I meant strictly standalone MPC on its own.

whats the deal on adsr vs ahdsr?

i understand how adsr works, but i dont fully understand why some of you guys are so happy about the added hold feature, cold someone elaborate on this for me please?

what exactly does it enable you to do that adsr cant do?

can/do you apply it to your regular "samples," ie, standard 1/4 or 1/8th note chops off of a record? or is it more suited towards instrument patches with longer playing times? are you guys using this strictly for samples in the mpc, or will the adsr/adhsr feature effect an external keyboards sound that you have midi'd up to the mpc's sequencer?

im trying to wrap my head around this, but adsr seems to be more geared towards synthesis than it is sampling, so i dont find myself using anything other than attack and release usually.

thanks guys!
