@Bugfix thanks for the response and reaffirming that you simply don't know what you're talking about. Have a great night.

DON"T ? somehow I don't remind any of older members claimed on loading jjos back and forth, me neither so you wanna hear more? it happens on busted 1000 or if one is so freighten by such individuals to the point where they actually might screw things up, so why should I take responsibility, are you MPC polizei?

You need to come to a decision here and while you're at it, formulate a clear and coherent response. If language is a barrier, use google translate to help convey yourself clearer.

Let's recap:

Someone posted asking if there is a limit to the amount of times they can reflash hence switching between JJ OS2 and OS3.
- There is a theoretical limit to the amount of times the flash can be reflashed before it fails. That amount is not likely to be achieved in our lifetime.
* You sent a preemptive "congrats" if he ever managed to hit 1,000 flashes. (What is that supposed to mean, that you believe he'll be able to hit 1,000 flashes no problem or congrats that his unit didn't get bricked before then?)

- There have been thread posts over the years where users have bricked their 1000 and 2500's
* I responded offering an alternative suggestion as I have what I believe to have a lot of experience with TSOP flash chips such as the MBM29LV651UE-90TN - which is what is being flashed when the OS is updated. Yes, you can reflash this chip a bunch of times but the flash is still dependent on the software as well as the hardware not glitching for many reasons that can be found on here. So I stated that it may be better to purchase a second MPC and switch back and forth between each version instead of bothering with reflashing over and over, which is quite silly to do either way you look at it -- sober or not.

As I've stated in an earlier post :
-How many users here have the service jig required to recover from a corrupted flash or any other flash failure? Not likely or that anyone has yet to admit to.
-How many users here have the technical ability to remove the flash, put it in a programmer and program a viable image to then solder back thus recovering the bricked board? Never mind the fact that no one has ever discussed the flash layout of the flash, or talked about dumping the on board flash for this purpose. They end up paying a crazy amount to get a new motherboard or give up making beats all together. Some on the other hand get a Renaissance and then make 100 new threads about why the software is messing up. THE ORIGINAL ISSUE NEVER GETS RESOLVED THIS WAY.

-How often do you see MPC 1000 or 2500 motherboards showing up online due to various failures? Not often and when they do they are very expensive, but yeah that's cool, you'll offer him a beer if he gets 1,000 flashes. Your ability to think outside the box is astounding and I applaud you for such creative thinking.

But I'm obviously wrong for offering an alternative suggestion based on experience. Here's an idea? Instead of using your free time to ponder your lifes existence, maybe you can code that d*ck measuring app you talked about, it's obvious you have the free time to do it. Maybe you'll get rich from it?

You're welcome.

jeez richie, where are you living? (I must avoid this country during a trip) no serioulsy, I didn't wanted to offend You if think so. It was rather a positive attitude towards OP to show him he will not loose by just trying. Really don't scare people not to climb, because some of climbers are dead (this is what I call civilization of death, you f***ing tryin to get away with it even when it's sure you will be dead in the end)

and... to end off my methaphoric sentences and to dissolve all of the illusions I've made: don't scare to climb and don't ask anyone about opinion on it.

You can do exact same type of timestretch manally on any jjos with pitch shift. End effect got some mettalic artifacts, but in reasonable scale it works ok from memory.

You route sample to assignable outs,
cable goes to input

in PITCH SHIFT page you decide which q-link you wanna use, up or down
than on a sample q-link in program you select TUNE (realtime)

go back to pitch-shift page and see how it works.

You can only record an effect external device.

Wow, all got really heated there...

I say, be aware that it's 'possible' you could get corruption when writing, but it's possible you could get corruption when doing any kind of firmware update (e.g. updating your smartphone etc). It's a small risk for the extra benefits.

I always worry about power failures as that can really bugger up hard disks and will definitely brick an MPC that's going through a firmware update, so run all my gear through this UPS.

Yes, of course it's possible to brick the unit, but it's not even a promile of all performed updates. Beside I think maybe not all, but some units were recovered with Akai OS and intitial way of loading OS (CF with OS and WINDOW key on startup).
Even I have never reverted back to AKAI OS (I think about it as a bad luck - ya know - belief  )
