new release 4.33 main screen changed... what do you think?

What?!!! That might be a bug. You might want to report that. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to change tracks by scrolling on the "track name" while the sequence runs. If you can do it in the older OS version, you should be able to do it in the new one as well. Therefore, I think it might be a bug.

im on the same note but mainly i dont like inconsistencies. the form and the font must look exactly the same. and thats not the case. and as i stated before the main screen looks cramped. i dont need those track numbers that huge. are the mpc folks so old that they messed up the track numbers before? are we a bunch of 78 year old farts?

Yes, first thing that catches the eye, useless anyway, I hate numbers on displays (new M audio displayes are shinning example) because mostly they say nothing, names do. Sold my Nordlead because of that, "was it 24 or 42 or maybe 52" . having lots of sequences, patterns, songs etc etc, it is only sensible naming that is important. So the number could be there but THAT big? No.

i think this might be an issue w/ longtime mpc users and short time

i have had mine for just over 2 years now and with this whole jj os thing i have no real need to see things stay the same looking as they were before. i say just let him "do what he do" becasue as of yet i have never once been disappointed...and won't be irritated by font changes, screen reworkings, whatever he wants to work on.

it might be just me, i pick up on this stuff really quickly, but once i work through something once it's forever a process stuck in my head.

i can still work on os 1.07, for instance, like i never left it - not that i'd WANT to, but when i'm in guitar center and want to make someone feel silly i jump in there and laugh when the inevitable race card gets played.

but preference is preference. i say just give it a chance and suspend judgement til you really play with it.

Well, JJ has now given the option of what screen you prefer. I think to change it just to change it is a little pointless unless it is part of a new function. I have always advocated a more streamlined look..like all other MPCs.

That was just a fix to correct what JJ broke right? JJ should check his/her homework before turning it in. It is an open book test right

you misunderstood me nym.What i am trying to say is that i dont like to scroll to a menu on my mpc and find the word "sequence" in a diffrent shape and size then the one on the main page. Granted maybe i might be nitpicking but i firmly believe consistency should be the guiding light when trying to improve the visuals of the mpc. I really dont care about how the other mpcs look either.I have only my 1000 so its not that kinda comparison im doing.

gotcha. yeah this comes from me not having really used this new screen lookin os yet so take it with that in mind

i may be a bit off the way here, but i kinda see what you all mean by the slightly un designed look about the new main screen/font styles/sizes, but if this JJ is japanese, they might have a completely diffrent vibe to my view of westernised layouts, i notice everytime i go to say tokyo or kyoto, the documents out there are layed out quite strangely in a similar JJ design sense. and it really falls into place feeling the recognition of a more naturally japanese order of graphics, its just as clear, if not more so.

I don't think so....Japanese programmers worked on the original operating systems....same is true for other similar music production products.
