I've only had my 2500 for two weeks and haven't had any major issues with the Akai os. I'd love to check out the JJ os, I can't live without the direct record. I like to sample live guitar, bass, keys etc. Hopefully it will be added in a future upgrade to JJ os!

You can do that with the JJ OS, it just works different.
The way Akai implemented it was considered better by most, but JJ would allow you to still sample live guitar, bass, keys etc.

Thanks for clearing that up Sovereign. I'll definitely check out the JJ OS.

JJ fixed a lot of things and improved many but somethings would have been better the way Akai had them.
The early 2500 user used the Akai OS for several months before there was a free JJ and even longer to the v5, so we had to learn the Akai OS first.
Makes it easier to understand why some choose not to use the JJ OS or miss things the Akai way.
