I like jahrome for his anti-attitude, without him this forum wouldn´t be the same. it seems he´s one of a few guys, who knows that jj is making good money with his third-party-o.s.(o.k.only 30$ per license, but who knows how many licenses he already sold?) and for (t)his money he should do some good work!
I really don´t understand these guys hating on AKAI-Professional, not thinking about the fact, that jj wouldn´t exist without this nice little company (and Roger Linn of course).
Not jj is building these wonderfull drummachines, AKAI does it.
Long live the AKAI-MPC!!!

Some people are bothered by the jj os bugs. Hey, there is always an alternative. Some people can switch to the MV-8000 or just use the "official" akai os. Most people applaud jj yes, but I want to applaud the people on this forum. I believe our feedback and complaints are making this a better os. Yes, there are bugs but remember this is the "Unoffical OS." So if you want to be official, get the offical akai os.

You can choose JJ OS with bugs or Akai OS with bugs. But I can't see how you can choose Akai OS - it puts a slow attack on samples whereas JJ OS is practically bit for bit perfect. Forget which set of bugs you prefer, how about using the one that actually plays the samples properly?

I like the fact that JJ is doing this, but don't act like there doing this for free.
There making $30.00 a POP. There making a big profit off us mpc1000/2500 users. Just think how many mpc1000/2500 are sold and how many of these people want a good o.s for it. He should thank us and we should thank him.
So "Thank you JJ" now you say "Thank you mdot"
Without us there is no him!!!!!!!!!
There only making money because akai is some bull#%it
You don't see this happening to Roland![/img]

Please show a little respect for those people that are making third party software to achive better results with somthing else..
Also "Alien skin" does nice plugins for Photoshop, but I don't think the rule should be "You ****ers thank me, 'cuz without me u go out starving!"
30 bucks is a laughable price for the job JJ had done, and MPC works without it, no perfectly, but it does..
Is up to you to choose, pay, be conscious You are only a component of this game (is called "market") and be conscious that JJ is a pretty fair player..
'nuff respect!

I never disrepected JJ I love what there doing and I support them but he's making enough money not to kiss his *ss. just think $30.00 x 50,000 or more mpcs I'm sure there laughing straight yo the bank
sounds like good money to me. Ive been making beatz on my MP before JJ
and I'll make them after. I really don't care if its got a few bugs, every o.s does.

I simply just don't think they are making so big laughs: it would be nice for them if EACH mpc would install JJ os, but only few got it..
And 30 bucks is a fair price for a so powerfull upgrade: just think how much it costs to upgrade a piece of software like Protools, Cubase, Nuendo and so on.. Hundreds, without having a special forum like this one where bugs are discussed and resolved in a matter of weeks, features are proposed and even - sometimes - applied.
I'm not kissin JJ's **s, but I feel correct them also under a market point of view: and if they laugh for their income I think they mostly deserve it..
Peace

It's funny how we ALL complained about the Akai OS, and now someone (JJ) steps up to improve things, and folks complain. Not because he hasn't improved the OS, but because there's a bug here and there that he promptly tries to fix. For $30, he's not rich. There ain't enough MPC's out here for JJ to retire off. He didn't create the MPC, he's learning more with each OS. Personally if I was him, I'd be like, "phuck all y'all and your $30" because in all honestly, we've all got our $30 worth and then some.Just seeing what these machines are capable of doing is worth the thirty bucks because akai would have NEVER showed us! I've got a TON of hardware that isn't perfect, and ain't gonna ever get an update. Why can't a MPC2000 have the features of an XL? Why can't the MPC60 read folders? If anyone tries to make it happen, don't shoot em down because their trying. You find a bug and JJ tries to fix it. How much more can you ask? Sure, fix one problem and another one comes up, but there isn't a week that goes by that JJ doesn't get a request to add more features. Now that space is almost maxed, topics like, "remove this, and add this" are all over the place and you don't expect to see bugs? Would you rather live with a bug for over a year until he thinks its' perfect? (akai).

True. Dyck ridin' ain't cool. A simple "thanks" is all that's needed!

I paid $30 for an OS that is suppose to be superior. So that is what I expect.
Tool Box: Nuendo 4/MPC 2500/Reason 4/Emulator X2/Battery 3/Wave Lab 6
