what's up Nym just about to check your latest vids, when you get a chance make one showing the nifty features like alt loop and other off the beaten path features like that, and thanks for the latest crop.

looks good but things are going a bit fast for you there, nym. Take it easy, baby

nym i know i badgered you for ages over doing these, good to see you deliver the goods, thats a man of his word. now sample every decent keyboard ever made and build pgm files with impeccable detail and integrity (think hollowsun alesis fusion quality). i will then download them for free and never use them, preferring instead to waste my time reading message boards

monk - i use track mutes. i just never record them. i see no need when you can just delete the part you want muted or use qlink-track-level like a turntable crossfade and cut the volume.

juta: if i slow down, this bus will explode. nah, that's just how i work. plus, youtube has a 10 minute cap.

earwolf: while i was uploading these i was wondering what you'd say haha
i don't have access to all the stuff that hollowsun does/did (before they went non-gratis) but i will do what i can. starting with that nice VP2000.

that thing with the ringing noise basically gave my two dogs mini heart attacks. :)

good shiit. i wish i had ram and a harddrive. you just make me want more more more! hahaha

imagine what your life would be like with 30 seconds of sample time and enough space to hold one or MAYBE two beats?? hahaha :)

no shit nym, these instrument programs are hella fun. I also prefer doing this to running all my stuff through the midi sequencer on reason, i'm sure i will probly still use reason that way for some really long automation type ish, but yeah, having all the stuff at your fingetips on the mp is a mad workflow advantage. Nice little example tune by the way! thanking you

Hi Nym, and thanks for all the videos about OS2!
could you show us the filter modes, and how they behave compared to akai original filters?
this OS looks alot more like mpc2kXL, FINALLY real ADSR envelopes again!

i am the same way. i sequence nothing in reason anymore in favor of using midi grid edit. when i'm done with my midi and i need to track out, i just track it all out in reaper in 1 go, straight to audio! then i do it again, straight to midi, which i mute and save, just in case i want to change it up.

maaaan i was hoping i wouldn't have to reinstall the akai os...haha also unfortunately the filter demonstration wouldn't make a great youtube video due to the quality of streaming format, probably wouldn't hear much difference. i agree on how nice it is to have adsr, and i'll be making a dedicated ADSR video soon.

you use simult layers. in this case, go to SIMULT and for A02, change MUTE to SIMULT and select A01 (remember, in A02's settings). change A01 (open) to NOTE ON. add a very small amount of release, and there you go.

nym, apart from going maybe a touch too fast (I know you already addressed that), your videos are all excellent. Thanks for taking the time on 'em.

thanks!

next video(s) will be completed on thursday, so if there is anything you want to see, please be specific and address it.

i think i'll be making a short vid next on the new jjos2 track mixer

Love the os2 vids nym, however i am having a bit of a problem with the multiple instrument samples seperating per pad, anytime i try to use more than one sample in instrument mode they seem to all play below the desired or targeted note range.. ive set up everything verbatim to what you are doing in the vids however im still not able to get a similar result to what you demonstrate on the vid.
