this was an issue w/ the 1000 folks too
you got to right click or ctrl click it to save it.

otherwise it opens up the text approximation of the actual code since it's a ".os2 file" and for some reason it seems like macs want to display that in text for lack of a better attributed application to open it...or such is my assessment

anyone in yet?

It's like an exclusive club...you have to pay JJ money in order to be a member. You will have to buy JJ OS1 and insure you install the latest version...and then you have to buy and install JJ OS2. Your MPC will be a dual bootable system..where you can select which OS you want to run when powering up...it would be even better if there was a 3rd option to run the Akai OS.

Ok...now I am back to playing with this new OS...

anyone try to buy it yet? i clicked the download button and it took me to a page of japanese jibberish...

Once you right click and download the file (this works with any file with .txt)
rename the file by removing the .txt, then it will ask you if you wanna keep the .txt or .os2. Keep .os2!

Peace!

JJ calls it Pad Pattern. Go in to MODE + PAD11.

this is so weird.. i was on the mac, downloaded the file. it shows up as .os2.txt so i took the .txt off and it was .os2. so then i try it on the mp and it didn't show up on the cf. so i go back to the mac, turn the .os2 into .bin because thats what the other os is saved as and i put that thru the mp and it showed up but said it was 1mb and that it was too big to execute. now i went to my pc and downloaded it on firefox and it saved as a .os2 its first time and its not showing up on the mp.

You must have OS1 paid, installed w/ password I believe before the MPC will be able to see OS2 on the flash card. It's in the instructions posted on JJs website.
