possessed mixer

this 'possessed mixer' problem has been around for a while...

i believe it's a software bug, not a hardware fault...

although it could plausibly be both.


when i started using JJ i got to about ver4.51 and when i next tried to upgrade
all automation i'd done that was assigned either to 'track' or to specific pads would
be read by the ENTIRE PROGRAM.

so i stuck with 4.51 for ages... until i realised it was a bug in 4.51

this bug has resurfaced in the version i'm using currently. 4.97 i think...

this may not correspond with your problem... but the symptoms are the same...

that 'possessed' look where everything is just flippin out and jumpin all over the place

so anyone here gone through replacing a qlink yet?

i've soldered slide pots before, ie bigger versions of the 1000's slide pots.
very easy. easier than a rotary encoder.

word. well what i was mostly wondering about is if the qlinks actually require desoldering the connections or can you just pop them out (like how the old pads were)...?

yeah you gotta de-solder them. It's easy. Just get yourself a desoldering iron from Radio Shack, and you'll have those q-links out easily.
