Why do I need to STRIKE my pads so hard?

i'm talking about the actual connector to the MPC1000 guts, not the midi in.
midi in wouldn't let you access MODE functions via the pads, which sucks.

whether or not it "looks goofy" that depends on the skill of the engineer

okay okay, once second, so even with the newer black mpc's which i had thought had "pad fixes" can still get better with that pad upgrade from mpcstuff?

Some of the Black Mpc 1k's still had the old pads. The new ones are the MPC 1000 BK-N. I believe.

I've been calling VST off and on for about 2 months now and they're still telling me that they are on back order. I asked one of the guys at VST if there's a possibility that Akai just stopped making them and isn't planning on making more, he said they're in the process of making them. All I know is that for as long as their taking to make more, Akai better double check everything and the pads better feel right, work properly and be made to last because I would be pissed off if I paid for the new pads and still got some BS. I'm actually gonna give them a call today, I'm not waiting on them to call me, my luck they'll sell out again before I get a call.

So I am not the only one, huh? I was wondering why so many blue/red 1Ks were on Ebay, it's about to be one more, blue/white instead with the some ol' rock 'em, sock 'em pads.

I really like the idea of making a Frankenstein mpc with the full size pads and the jjos2. but we better keep it on the low. dont give Akai any ideas...next thing we know well see the same thing only they'll call it a mpc 1500. hah. Ive got an extra 2000 classic laying around maybe ill open the 2 up and see if such a thing would be possible.

hah no don't worry about that...i doubt it'd happen - they tend to shy away from innovation.

but keep your eyes on the forums, i have some great ideas as far as that goes that i'll make public. first i just got to get a cheap mpc1000 or two. i've got a couple good leads, i might buy a couple, refurb one or two and sell them back for a couple hunnid profit, and keep one extra.

i just wish wish wish akai would make more of those goddamn pad fixes and stock their stores with their little bandaids

can u really hook an mpd16 to an mpc1k? would u go midi out for the mpc to the mpd16 midi in or vise versa?

no midi connectivity involved. that wouldn't allow you to use the pads to access MODE functions.

you'd literally replace the mpc pads/sensors with the mpd pads/sensors
the ribbon is identical according to RENDR and to my memory
you'd just have to find a way to lengthen the in-between.

i'm thinking the db22, like this (db15) but bigger and less clumsily taped

I bought an MPC1000 (Black model) nearly a year ago. So far I have no hassles with the pads.

They are senstiive and 'feel nice' to the touch.

I guess only some of the 1000 models have the pad problems.

this is pretty common knowledge at this point.
the first mpcs were created with a wholly different type of pressure sensor than all other mpcs, ever
this broke.
akai realized their mistake (but never apologized) and new mpc1000s have Sensitronics FSRs instead of Inastomeric pressure sensors.

what about ribbon cable and an idt connector?
pc links are shite!
or a card slot connector would prob fit in easyer when case fastened back on then just an adaptor for the lead to plug in and were in !

Unless your Mp has the new pads, your pads WILL go bad. Trust me.

i just bought a used mpd16 for 50 bucks (HAH!) for that very purpose - so i don't have to wait on akai, and so i DONT have to give them money they don't deserve for selling a broken product

Will the MPD pad fit into MPC or do you have to use it seperately? Am considering that option over the backorder deal.

anybody know some suppliers for the pad upgrade in australia? ive called and email quite a few. without much success.
