Yeah I've got cable too, but sometimes traffic can get blocked from certain areas and you can only see it if you use a redirect site downloading from somewhere else.

Excuse my ignorance, but could someone explain how to use this feature? A video would be great, but even just a walk through could really help. Please keep the negative comments to yourself... Thanks in advance

@ elektrik_muz - i'm still foggy about the issue. but i suspect it could be either AVG Antivirus, ZoneAlarm, or Spybot updates that are the cause. I havent had time to figure it out yet. So I'll look into it further when I can.

@ wudsiba - don't worry bro. MIDI CC's are not part of the RTFM pre-requisite. So nobody will say anything negative. However, you may find some info in the JJ OS manual from when outgoing MIDI CC's were introduced in JJ OS1.
What you need to do is to assign your MIDI controller knobs or sliders to the correct values matching the MPC. Then you'll be able to control Tune, Cutoff, and Resonance with your MIDI controller instead of using the Q-links on your MPC.
Since I haven't installed the new version of this OS yet, I can't offer more advice than that. But maybe someone else can in the meantime.
If you understand how the MPCs Q-links can be assigned MIDI CC's (from previous versions) to control external MIDI devices (synths, sound modules, software, etc), then you're halfway there.

i need to find and buy some old school looking (9v.) power cable before i can switch it and test it.

yeah that seems silly, i wish it were based on the standard/general midi control lists.
as it is, #71 is my reserved for nord patch variation.

but yeah mustn't complain..... although, only the active track is responsive, i would really hope for the system to be improved to let a track respond to a particular midi channel - if we have 64 tracks=4x16 midi chans (laid out like a reverse of the current setup for the tracks' midi output A1-16, B1-16 for starters, and therefore receive CC's on 'its' midi channel in as others respond on theirs.

in standard midi form, 71 is typically res and 74 is "brightness," aka (usually low filter) cutoff

Uh, well unless Matrixsynth is lying with that page title I'd say it's a good bet.

duh. believe it or not i never even tried that. i've been doing most of my sequencing right on the mpc so i never even used my midi interface pitchwheel to control the tune, just the q-links.

cheers elektrik - i just wanted a second opinion before i go out and try to hunt down a very strange looking power lead

anybody noticed what happens when you press window in grid edit? it shows a new view based on pattern mode. you can edit a pad by pushing it and you only see one bar of one pad at a time. it's something completly different from all other way of arranging beats on the mpc.
i didn't know it was there and i'm pretty sure it wasn't in 1.16...

yeah its really useful, but has been there since at least 1.13 . Its great to be able to move notes around while the sequencer plays.
