does the auto chromatic copy all variables on the pad. i was under the impression it was just the sample. the global program edit in this case is a life saver. perhaps an autochromatic function which copies all variables of a pad would be a good request from jj??

theres a lot of scales out there, anyone got a kurzweil, its filled with loads of non-western scales, its really sweet.

like some ensoniq products. there is rarely non western scale. too bad because it is sometime really an interesting option in your music.

true, the non-western scales also reveal more 'music' within the structures that we ( or.. me) westerners are 'programmed' to recognise as the norm or 'right way to do things'.....the tunes can be way off tune (in terms of 1octave scales) but beautiful to the ear.

it copies all variables. this is how i'm doing basic waveform synths - layer 2, give em a filter/lfo and then autochroming it. all stuff copied, which was a particularly nice touch.

he could have pulled an akai and bungled it making it only copy a sample

Hey i was so happy to read that you have and RS 7000. have u ever figured out how to change the RS7000 styles when u change the mpc paterns. I want teh RS7000 to change styles every time i change the parten on the akai.

I e-mailed my auto-scale idea to JJ a little while ago. Is there a method I am missing out on that would achieve similar effect though?

If it was well implemented enough I could actually avoid having to buy a keyboard controller (used to have an ASR-10 but sold it so now I need another board).

Another feature I would like is two-player pong (independent sliders) and the ability to stop/play/rec/o-dub from an external midi controller (such as a keyboard with assignable buttons [i.e. Oxygen8, Axiom, etc.)

Does JJ read these forums?

Also, if 16-Levels worked in MIDI mode that would be very cool, because as of right now if I turn on 16 Levels while using a Reason synth than it just plays the same note on every pad. This is another feature that could save me from buying a keyboard controller.

A 'Backup CF card to Hard Drive' option would also be handy

Just make an autochromatic program from a blank sample (or no sample at all) and use that on your midi track to control reason chromatically.

(then its more than 16, its 64!)

a couple of months ago I ate a hand full of mushrooms and sat @ the mpc for a few hours making midi programs of scales, exotic and otherwise...very handy for arpeggios. PM me if you want em.

Hells yeah, realtime would be even better.

I was playing with the mpc and was going to add an lfo on the hihats filter, but it come to me that the lfo only works on the one shot sample itself, not on the whole lengt of a sequence of let say 4 bars.

So now i recorderd the for bars hihat sequence to get the lfo on the whole thing,

But wouldn't it be nice to have a switch for the lfo in the lfo menu with the modes: LFO cycle destination to "one shot sample" or "sample's sequence" ?


ofcourse when i think of it, it,s a sampler and they don,t have an lfo that works besides the samples on long cycle's, but in the mpc1000 with sequence it would make more sence and it would be cool specially for acid/techno experimental minded tracks.
