MPC1000 OS V3.0 beta ?

ok guys...i have confirmed that you can easilly switch back and forth between both os's without having to use a CF card. i just have both files on my mpc hard drive, and i can just select the file of the OS i want to load and hit DO IT. it then erases the Flash ROM and puts the new OS on it. then just restart your mpc and you are done. sweetness.
i'm loving the new OS so far...it's like having a brand new machine.

cpu - i'm glad that i was wrong about being able to load os's from the hard drive. sorry i couldn't have helped you then.

i'm also glad i don't yet know everything about the 1000!

Its cool that you can switch between the OSes, just don't do it too much, I don't think flashrom is meant for too many rewrites.

Thanks. I was searching my brain for examples. It occured to me that the eps16 and asr10 had extra effects/filter programs released by third partys.

I think those (my examples) were late on and discontinued though, i remember id had my then 2nd hand ensoniq gear a long time when they came out. Do you know if thats the case on the 9000?

Not sure about the linn, Forat does the OS though so you could check there.

it is. flashrom has hella shelf life. there's tons a reliable and well tested documentation that comfirms this. ...reading is fun da mental, try it out! (not clownin' you nym, hope you're following)

yes flash rom supports at least between 100 000 and 1 billion rewrite cyles.

As far as not getting overexcited about future features yet i totaly agree.

Its bloody nice that we ll be able to have a "Wish list" thread in the near future and know that its not a total fantasy.

So is Grid Edit only for Note On data?
That's a pity - also no T.C in grid?

Also, when you're in Load you no longer have the option to view Samples only or programs only etc etc. If that would somehow be possible that would be cool, save alot of time scrolling through huge folders. Anyone else agree?

Also, is it possible to Insert an event in Grid? That's essential

Hit the Window key when you're over an occupied grid cell and you'll get access to the parameters that are available in step edit. But in short, I don't think that CCs or pitch change events etc. are available in grid edit.

There is no TC in grid mode - the TC value set in the 'main' screen is used to set the grid resolution.

Akai Pro Japan went bankrupt in January I think...now they have some kind of small office with only a few people. From what the guy at the music shop here said they're just handling service issues, etc. now
