MPC1000 OS V3.0 beta ?

i'd say you load the official os that you have experience with instead of this beta. you may never know what may come up. machines have a habit of acting up

I finally had time to install 3.0.
Love the new features but i also did a quick check to see if the nasty Amp Env bug (courtesy of the Down-syndrome programmers at WAkai) was still there.
So far i haven't heard any of the Amp Env glitches that appear when using 2.1!

Also has anyone noticed tighter timing? Someone on the akai list mentioned it. I then loaded the song I posted here to show how sloppy the timing of thje 1000 is and unless I'm imagining things it does sound tighter now.

Since the 25k and 1K share the same CPU i fell this should not be a problem for JJ Linn to to sort out, but i tested it now with a set of 808 snares and although the problem is still there it sounds different, its like it phases differently as it did with OS 2.10 but to me its still clearly there not sure if its improved but its for sure still there.

is it possible to edit in grid mode while the mpc plays?

not in realtime, but similar to the 808 grid mode?

Do you guys think he is taking code from the 2500 os and adding the same code to the 1000 os?

yeh. its like step edit. if u hit overdub and just press a pad, it will move to the next step in the grid without the sequence itself playing

for me I play a full bar smooth then the very next beat the sound phase's consistently for the next 3 measures then its fine for a full bar and a half, With OS 2.10 it would be more on off on off kinda like phases , but maybe I too am imaging things

ps Medway I always buy on beatport and nice tracks man, quite inspiring to hear the level of quality your tracks have.

im trying to edit the grid while the mpc is playing. so i can program the beat in grid mode , the same as when its stopped, while the mpc plays back looped.

like the 808. the pattern is playing back looped. the led is following the playback, but u can still program the beat u want your sample to fall on.

I hope this guy works on the 4000 next...

Question: What do you guys that are excited about Grid Edit use it for? I have Grid Edit on the 4000 but dont get why you would ever want to input your drum hits on that grid rather than just playing them on the main screen. It seems counterintuitive to me so I'm curious.

but i can not chop on the mpc with this new autoslice.. i need a sensitivity adjustment or something.. and option of old slice method pleaaase. oh well recycle works.

i seem to find the timing a little tighter as well. tighter timing and tap tempo that works like a charm make me a happy boy.
