more from my MPC:
its not the pads, respectivly not alone.
When i´m in audio Edit and have a filelenght parameter "active/ higlighted" and move the jog dial,
the sample restarts all the time.
when i´m in load/save menu and "highlight" a file it immediately begins to play

313studiotricks, this is really a great job you´ve donne there,
if i get my MPC ( its the good unit that is broke) back to work i guess i will try that mod too.
( the broke unit is an early black one with old pads / My other unit is a 1k from the last batch JFYI, i absolutely dislike the latter )

i say good luck. i think you might as well buy a new pad sensor. i did and still had problems but noticed it was only when the unit was hot. if yours is not hot when its malfunctioning, then i might suspect the sensor its self or the connections between cables. this is the first thing i always do when i open something up: re-seat all cables. over time electrical connections oxidize or become 'loose' to the point of being intermittent. if whoever owned the unit before really 'used it hard' then of course the active parts will be worn out. also if the person lived by the sea then you may have microscopic or not so microscopic damage from salt in the air... ever seen a car from florida with bad rust problems? happens to electronics too.

any component may have been stressed too much when hot one day and forever afterwards act up when unit gets hot, or maybe even from the start, or even because of one of several unknown reasons that nobody will ever know.

all you can do is try things until something works.
