so when there's a problem, you're supposed to sit there and grin at it instead of fixing it. some great logic if i've ever heard it

while you're at it, why don't you email jj and just be like "go ahead and stop updating"

yall ****** are SPOILED!!!!!! the 1000 does alot of **** my 2k cant so why do yall tend to keep wantin more?

because more can be done. chill.

More can be done? Like realtime timestretch or would Donkey Kong be the next most wanted feature?

I don't need to say any more.....(I'm gonna go tell on you jah...  )

Ok..the new year is almost here so let me clear the air....

Weeks ago, I extended my hand in peace to a few of your..er....leaders around here. I had promised not to tease them as long as they didn't continue with their silly remarks aboutr me. However, that didn't last and the couldn't help themselves. So I had to open up a can of wup azz on dem boyz. Now they are crying like poosies. But once again...I will leave them alone as long as they do the same.

However, this JJ OS is fair game. If there are no rules about bashing Akai...then how can there be any rules about bashing JJ's OS ??? Also, why would I be jealous of an drum machine and an OS that I can go out and buy? They are not exclusives  I honestly hope JJ continues to do what they do (I do own an MPC you know). Until recently, there hasn't been any updates that JJ made that really appealed to me. However, it seems that is about to change. I am starting to see suggestions that I made a year ago surface in these new operating systems. Hopefully my excessive teasing found the right ears and we will get more than just Space Invaders. But for you guys that haven't been keeping score..here is what I wrote a year ago:

MPC 2500 after 1 year and 1 month

Jahrome wrote 1 year ago:
Its been just over 2 months since the release of the MPC 2500. Currently, it is operating on OS 1.00b. Although it peforms well for the most part, there are some issues that need to be addressed quickly with an OS update, mainly the note-off 'bug' with MIDI OUTS C and D. This feature need to have top priority.

Other than tweaking the currect OS so that it performs flawlessly...here is my list of features that I would like to see in a future OS upgrade (in no particular order):

1. Multiple Continuous sample tracks (16 minimum). Allow the audio in these tracks to follow tempo changes in realtime. Allow Patched Phrases to be assigned to these Continuous sample tracks.
2. Recording/streaming samples directly to/from hard disk
3. Enhanced effects/dynamics (EQ for each sample). Effect Presets.
4. MTC sync
5. Expanded sequencer (300,000 notes per sequence..just because)
6. Data compatibility w/ all Akai S/MPC formats, and Roland/Emu CD Roms
7. Sample editing: Resampling, coverting stereo-mono, and mono-stereo
8. CD burning: Data back up and Audio CD recording
9. Screen Saver
10. Quantization: Place note shift back in the Timing Correct Menu
11. Recordable track mutes
12. Auto assign of samples to program upon loading
13. Auto Chromatic Assignment
14. Display levels when sampling 2500 outputs
15. Aksys Software for the 2500
16. Sample slice: generate sequence data for sliced samples (slightly different than Patched Phrase).
17. Better implementation of USB (pain in the azz plugging/un-plugging USB cables )

The MPC 2500 could be perfect with these added functions I can use the 2500 just fine without these functions....but having these functions will take it to another level.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requested features that were added:
1. 4 audio tracks added by JJ
4. Added by Akai...improved by JJ?
7. Converting stereo to mono added by JJ
8. Audio CD burning added by Akai
10. Added by Akai
11. Added by Akai
13. Added by Akai
17. Added by Akai

So Akai..JJ...or whoever is listening....here is my most current list...
New feature request:
1. Auto assign multiple samples to a program from load menu
2. Assign up to 2 MIDI channels per track
3. Compatibility with all Akai (at least S series) and Roland CD Roms
4. Improved real-time pitch shift (not just 5 minutes...not only on input)
5. Real-time timestretch
6. 300,000 note sequencer capacity
7. SIMULT
8. 4 band EQ added to filter section (for each pad)
9. FXs routable to any output
10. Ability to resample--lower or raise bit or sample rate
11. Nameable MIDI OUTPUT ports
12. Import patch scripts
13. Record on ALL 16 MIDI channels at once
14. .....ran out of ideas

With that said..so many things have been added to these MPCs since I puchased the MPC 2500 15 months ago..as you can read..many of what I requested long ago.

Now get back to work and release another OS so I can tell you what's wrong with it. And before you take my Wii idea to heart..I was just joking :P

Oh..and one more thing (I can't help myself with this one)...JJ is treating the 1000 like Cubase. Start by adding all the new features there and releasing it so you guys can beta test it and sort through all the bugs. Then once the beta testing cycle is complete and bugs are fixed (mostly anyway), import the new functions to the MPC 2500..you know..like they do with Nuendo. So thank you gentleman for help making the MPC 2500 for what it is today.

However, I would probably just set it aside when a new MPC is demo in Namm 2007. I am hoping for a new MPC. One that connects to the coputer via Firewire or Ethernet port. The MPCs operating system will reside completely in Windows or Mac OSX. The MPC will actually become a control surface and audio interface. So instead of the limited 128 MBs of memory, we can add up to several Gigs of memory depending of your personal computer. Instead of depending on the processor of the MPC, your PCs processor will determine how powerful your MPC is. You will have every single feature that MPCs past/present has..as well as all the features of software based sequencers...but with the hands of control of the MPC  Damn....let me go gets this idead trademarked :D (and the software protection scheme...if your MPC is not connected to your computer...it will not launch and it will not work with any other control surfaces)

Piss me off....you can't silly. But its so easy to get you worked up and I find it entertaining. I can go back and forth for days and actually look forward to it (too much time on my hands).

By the way...do you need help buying an MPC. I might have another contest and give away cash prizes.

that is what i am talking about. dog, do something, read a book or something. drink a beer. your so serious about thinking people are laughing at 1k users because its "inferior" to your almighty 25k. but look at what you said, that is what people are laughing at! you look forward to flame wars. wtf!! im not mad at you. and im definatly not worked up. im laughing with you, just not about the same thing. go get some ass and find another way of entertainment. thats not a dis, just a healthy suggestion.

Your comments are exactly what I am talking about. Stay focused on the topic and not me personally.

Laughing is healthy..and I get that here by most of your responses  But some of you have a lil man complex. Don't get worked up over my jokes...the 1000 is practically identical to the 2500..basically one of the same minus the better hardware of the MPC 2500. If the 1000 makes you feel insecure...step your game up and get an MPC that boosts your self-esteem

Again...there would be no issues if you stick to the topic. The topic of this thread was'''Hey....I can treat my 1000 like an Atari :P " So with that being said...you would think this is a thread about silly sh!t and nothing serious. To get bent out of shape for what I wrote..you guys have anger managment issues...relax..go play with yourselves..or whatever you do to relax and relieve stress...now that may be healthy for you....

I think donkey kong would be cool.....

I like that idea, but that whole new mpc idea sucks... I would never want anything like that stupid mess. but it would be cool for you to buy with all your wealth.

I wish rich people would hire advisors on what to buy. I would say, I like this diablo buy that!! then go play pong some more.

Just dropping by to say your beats are trash regardless of what you use.

By jahrome Sat Dec 30, 2006 8:25 pm
If that is the case..let me hear your beatz..if they are god enough, you can come work for me and I will get you the MPC you can't afford....

By the way..a $1000 drum machine is not expensive if you get a job.

Dear Jahrome

If your beats are what I listened to, I guess you would feel insecure so that JJ put DJ Premier in the MPC to work music for you.

Thanks for listening. However, I don't get offended about such comments. The few people here that made such comments are doing very little with their music besides keeping it on their hard drives. Nothing wrong with that..just putting that out there. What ever I do is for my own personal enjoyment..like clowning catz like you. Who are you anyway :P

You are comical
When the MODS do check into this, they will see that 50% of your posts have been about me. :P The other 50% of the time, you contribute even less...and there you go once more with the insults  Yes, you are mad..g :P

Well, I just stopped in for a minute..just returned from GC. I have been reading up on the benefits of having a MIDI router/patch bay so I went and purchased one. I will sit down and put together a complex MIDI system so I can have multiple computers, synths, drum machines, etc working like a well oiled machine so I continue to compose my music that suks. So I will revist this later. You have plenty of time to muster up all the insults you can. Take care sweetcake

So back to the topic....who has the high score in Pong?
