Revisit: What's your number #1 feature request?

My number one feature to have right now would be to allow me to change the parameters of each hit in grid-edit and step-edit whilst the sequence is playing.

I'm an MPC virgin (three weeks) so bear with me if it's already possible.

i wish it were possible. i'd love it.
this is one of those things people will yell at you for "NOT USING YOUR EARS RIP JAY DILLA"

but removing "follow song" would be amazing for me - like if when overdub/record was not on, the sequencer would play but you could move freely from within the grid/stepedit

oh well, i've used up my one most wanted feature already,yet i've got another.

and the above post just nudged my mind onto this...

it would be lush to be able to record into the direct record tracks (57-64)and be able to leave the page and do a few tweaks, mute a few tracks, whatever, then return to the recording track when its time to end the recording.


((i've just been trying it, i got false hopes up because it seemed like it was actually working...as i left the track recording, then went off to change a few parameters etc as above, got back to the track after a short while, and the 'recording' message was still on the track! , but when i went to check the file i'd recorded, it was gone.

I think the one thing I'd really like updating sadly is the one thing you can't do with an OS update and that's have USB 2 connectivity....I've been waiting about 45mins for less that 1gb to transfer :@

how about an adjustable level for the click?

mode + pad 11, press the WHOLE button (F6 I think)....highlight the pitch column, select desired pitch

yeah, i was horrified when i first got my mpc, and a 2gb cf card, usb was soooooo slow,

but beacause i've got a laptop, i decided to get a pcmcia cf card reader for it, so now my cf dumps are lightning fast, and i hardly ever usb to my mpc now.

even a stand alone usb2 card reader would be a good idea for anyone not using a laptop.

I'd like to have the option to "Save as: 2000xl compatible"

Essentially it would just drop the 2500 exclusive settings and make SEQ+PGM loadable on the 2000xl.

I'm not sure if there is a way to do this now and I haven't tested it because I don't want to mess up my CF cards.

I'd like a keylock to stop my kids vandalising stuff... Oh yeah and a Q-sequence page like the 4000

i've only had it for 2 hours, and here's what i've seen so far:

1) in load menu, i'd rather have hitting a pad play the sounds that are on the pad instead of previewing the sound that's about to be loaded. if i want to preview a sound before loading, i can hit F5 (play).

2) in step edit, add the ability to only see the events that are triggered during the current step rather than having a long page with every event on that track. having every event shown definitely hinders my workflow as compared to my workflow with the 2000xl.

you can always, cursor to the type of event at the top and select only the type of evnt u want to see, ie:all events, notes, or realtime etc...

if that helps any.
