You can really sequence like an analog sequencer with this... I stumbled on it when I was trying to figure out how I could sequence a little more like an 808. Great timing, as I believe this is about as close as I'll get. All that's missing is a TAP botton. I'm still getting use to all the different ways to do everything.

yeah it's a fantastic function jj has given us.

one disappointment i've found, unfortunately you can't control an external midi synth with pattern :( this is a real shame. i was hoping to control my minimoog live using pattern.

no idea if jj could implement this - i very much hope he can adapt pattern to also play external midi synths.

This seems to be kind of a hiiden function that I think quite a few people could benefit from. If nothing more than to see how early sequencers worked. The simplicity and difference, allows you to create things that you wouldn't normally come up with. I'm really hoping for a TAP button to allow you to add notes to the beat for whatever pad you are on... I don't even know where to submit requests anymore.

I found it, and I requested it. No big deal, but it would be nice to see...

hell yeah, man, so glad you're up on this thing.
you know the nicest part is that now that we have this cc=>filter thing, we can utilize the internal filter as we compose but also double it or replace it using vst filters.

sorry, if this is a dumb question but this can't exactly be done "on the fly" can it?
(i'm about to integrate my first midi-device into my setup, so i'm figuring out what the possibilities are. don't worry though, i have read some before posting)

the way i understand it, this new feature just lets you control some parameters like filter-cutoff via your midi-controller. it even let's you, like you stated on the first page, control simultaneously the same parameter on your pc (for example if you have that suggested vst) if you set your program to midi-output.
but here is the thing i get confused about. for the the sounds i have in the mpc it is still just the internal filter i control directly. so unless i export my sounds from the mpc onto my pc, i have no way of controlling the filter cutoff of the vst applied to these sounds via my midi controller (which would have been a possibility before this feature was introduced, i think) - is that correct?
just want to clarify things for me. it would be great if you gave me some insight, because you seem to really use all the midi-stuff as much as it's possible

thanks in advance

you get 16 steps per bar, and you can locate to any bar in your sequence when you do the x0x-style programming thingy when pressing numeric in grid edit. its super nice!! ( can't wait till the linn drum II drops...i'm on the preorder list :)

What do you guys think about a tap button in this edit mode? I just think it would put the icing on the cake, and it seems like it would be an easy thing to add code wise. (I could easily be wrong, of course.) But if there are several people who would benefit from it, I imagine JJ would at least look into it...

For real? This is an unrealistic request to you?

I would also love this... Even though it is only an MPC. Insert little face making cute expression here.
