The 1000 and 2500 JJ OSs are still different. Perhaps the 2500 doesn't have this feature yet. What's strange is my tap tempo has
worked fine on v5, but others seem to be having problems.

I noticed when i installed v5 jj TAP tempo worked fine, after a power down I had to turn it back on, MODE pad 10 F2

and you've tried different cables? some cables don't have all 5 pins connected, not that that should make a difference, but it's the only other thing i can think of. that's a weird one, let us know if you get it sorted out.

I have not tried different cables but will asap. I have noticed that the MIDI LED on the midi sport indicates there is constant midi data being sent from the keystation. There is a constant pluse were as the Edirol there is nothing untill i press a key

ok, so maybe there's some setting on the keystation which is making it send lots of midi info, and it's confusing the mpc? i have no idea how complex the keysation is, i'll go and look it up

Nah the constant led flashing will be Active Sensing or clock information. This is quite normal with alot of midi gear.

aah ok, strange though, how one keyboard does it, and another doesn't.

From what I can read online, the Keystations have a lot of problems. I found this thread which seems to imply that Active Sensing system is buggy, which means the receiving midi equipment 'ignores' the Keystation, or caused dropouts, hanging notes etc.

Try swapping your Keystation for something a little more reliable.

Now , back to the the JJ OS. Anyone managed to get startup images working? If I put the example mpc2500.bpm on my hard drive or card, it doesn't show up on reboot.

you sure it's 1 bit?

Its the one from JJ's site, so I'm assuming its supposed to work.

Nice one Rozzer, I will be sending a mail off to M-Audio and taking this sucker back. Shame I liked them semi weighted keys.

try the novation remote 61 if you can, they're pretty good feeling.

Thnx. Yeah. it seems they don't work when placed on the hard drive.
