Correct me if I'm wrong however in OPM, there is a volume per pad. When you save a program + samples, this volume per pad is saved. in GPE, I believe there is a volume that correlates to the mixer, however not a volume that correlates to the program.

like hereo said, you're forgetting a screen that currently exists within GPE. hit MODE over the far left column "PAD NUMBER" in GPE to see this screen:

so rather than just mixer settings, GPE offers both pad LEVEL and mixer LEVEL.

Max out GPE, then get rid of OPE, MIXER and FX screens.

Now all your edits are done from one screen........simple and fast

Now what else can we have with this extra code? :D

i think it would have been better if the "whole" button was just added to the original screens. i tried using GPE and i'm not a fan. especially the "OUT" section of it. you can't go into there and easily see what your levels, pans, outs or FX are across all pads in the bank. that's a huge drawback IMO.

the 2000xl had an "ALL" option while in the mixer screen. if you hit that, it would adjust all pads at the same time. i don't know why they didn't implement something similar with the newer MPC's, but the "whole" button that JJ added definitely took care of that and then some.

That's what I'm sayin'. Lets free up some real space.
And Mike Feedback. Its unclear to me what you mean by "you can't see all the pan, fX and level info." That puzzles me cause its right there on the screen. Do you mean you can't see a picture representation of it? Cause hearing is more important than seeing and even then it is displayed just fine. Please explain Mike.

i think he means 'all at once'. in that in the mixer mode, you get levels, panning and effects sends for 16 pads on screen at once.

perhaps a redesign of the gpe where everything's moved 90 degrees clockwise so you can see 16 pads at once would work?

I see. I like it the way it is and in order to see your pad all you gotta do is hit it, but I'm not opposed to the changin' the the appearance a lil. But that's up to JJ. You can check to see if he'll do it. I just love how GPE is all in one. And to change it to look the way that MIXER mode does might effect the way that the FX look in there too. Might not be enough room.

le rat.. good call on the shift + bank button. i didn't know that.

and as Mr modnaR clarified, i said "you can't go into there and easily see what your levels, pans, outs or FX are across all pads in the bank.", meaning you can't see the levels of all pads in the bank at once. the global program edit only allows you to see 4 at a time.

And also by now I bet you've guessed that you can hold down [shift]+whatever pad you want to edit along with other pads that you hit while holding down [shift], so you don't have to do the whole bank, you can just do a couple pads @ a time (even if they aren't next to each other).
