i found the poll a bit hard to answer.

i nearly just put option 1 but i put option 2 because i guess i will only buy it if it is stable or will have fixes coming.

i know there are bugs in akai's os2 but there's nothing there that stops me using it and that was free. although i'm very impressed by JJ's os i don't feel i'm desperate for the majority of those features even though they would be nice.
if it works how it should and doesn't drop any os2 features i need then i will buy it for sure.

i just don't want to pay and then end up not using it cos of some bugs that never get fixed. ($30 ain't much at all but i'm not loaded and using my credit card is an issue for me - another story)

i would have put option 3 cos i would pay for updates but i don't want to have to pay extra for bug fixes, would make me feel scammed.

don't get me wrong i'm excited about this os and it looks very promising, i just don't have time to mess around, and i've been more than happy with my 1k since os2.

BIG respect to JJ though even just for attempting this, he deserves our support when the time comes. i do believe he can do it and all you testers are doing us waiters a big favour.

ps. recording track mutes would be top on my list if it ever gets to the feature requesting stage

you are truly insulting. Who do you think you are ? his agent or what ?
he is fixing all the bugs we submit anyway!! what more could you possibily ask ?

cyklops wrote:like i mentioned before we need to know that any existing bugs after the final release will be looked at for a certain period of time 6/12 months.

stop using "we" and speak for yourself. i definetely do not expect anything more than what he will be releasing and might fix or add afterwards, if he wants.

i really hope the mighty japanese programmer is not reading this forum. it could not be more disheartening.

i think everyone got cyklops wrong here
he was trying to show the coders exactly how much interest there is on this board, i for one know he wasn't trying to strongarm the jj into doing anything.

the man was just collecting data and people called wolf.
he even pmed me first to ask if i thought it was a good idea, and i said yes
i mean the decision in the end comes down to tutor
but i think it all came across wrong to most people.

whatever, you tried eh? safe to say that within 20 minutes it said that roughly 10 people would buy 3.0 - we do carry some weight here, and that weight needs to go into bughunting.

I dont think its insulting if you look at the options in the poll one was
"would you pay for updates in a few months time"
so by this I could say to him if you support the product there is xxx amount of people that will pay again for a updates, this way he could sort of see that there is xxx amount of people that would pay again if he kept going with his 1K development, (in case its was a one time effort for him)
I would for sure just suggest these figures to to him, in a mutual way,

I really don't see anything wrong with this but whatever
At the end of the day it comes down to the fact that i like what he has and is doing and would like to see him to continue with it,

I apologize i misunderstood your intentions.

anyway, imho it is a bit early to think about future support and stuff.

if we find (almost) all the bugs in the beta, then the release will be (almost?) bug-free :P

Is anyone else worried about handing credit card details over to pay for the finished os?

The layout and usability are so much better than 2.1 and id happily pay $30 to the guy/s who are writing it but...just dont know how...
