I'll be sending an official email to JJ tomorrow afternoon, in "JJ speak" and with complete details of who we are and what we're looking for.

i'm telling you: big mistake. you're just going to piss him off.
they're too busy right now and EVERY time you email them when they are busy with a new OS release you are going to get a dismissive response. trust me, i know this from experience. you'll get a 2 sentence email back within a day saying they can't help you.

think about it: he is bug-fixing for the 1000 and cramming to make the deadline for the 2500. he's probably been coding non-stop for the last few days and then he's going to get an email saying "oh by the way, can you also go back and please add all these new features to the old OS you just abandoned?". of course he's going to say "NO!"

better to contact them when things have slowed down and they are in a more receptive / less stressed mood. timing is everything and this is the WORST possible time.

also, i highly doubt our group here is big enough yet to influence him. even if we are all offering to pay him an additional $15 - $30 to do this, i have a feeling the numbers aren't high enough to make it worth his while. there's no harm in waiting another week to get more people involved and wait at least until the launch of the OS for the 2500 is passed.

Wow...

I just erased all the comments I made. I don't think I can improve on your retardation.

Have a sense of humor, you pussy.

T7, why do you do this crap? You have tried to get a rise out of me in the past by threatening to hurt my ass somehow, and I have tried to ignore it. I'm just wondering why you would keep coming on this forum just to throw salt on people. I don't know you, and you sure as hell don't know me. We will never meet for you to hurt my ass, so why continue? Arent we all just here to help shape an operating system that we all love?

I've never mentioned your butt before, but it sounds like you're already butt hurt.

I realized one thing when I read what JJ placed in his announcement about OS2XL... that OS2XL will most likely not fair well with load or something like that of OS2 projects...(RTFM!!!) LOL! So its not an easy decision to switch and JJ new that. As long as I can go back and rock OS2... GREAT! I think that would be a truer disappointment... not being able to load older OS's...

Big up to Nym.

I see your points, homeboy.

T7... I don't. I can go back and rock OS2 at anytime... Will it be a task to remember what folders are OS2 or XL?? I'm just askin.

xPEACE goes out to all.

I don't think T7 is looking for peace. Some people seem to enjoy starting arguments where they can hide through ananimity. If it dousn't interest you, use the older shyt...

anyone with problems of choosing OS versions, simply create a main folder for each setup, ie:

Projects_OS1/ Programs_OS1/ Sequences_OS1 /Samples_OS1.

and as for all other os's, its dead easy once u know u can switch OS, and simply open up that folder - choose a tune u were working on in that particular os, and continue.

(for example) i had even got to a stage when JJ had changed the behavior of the filters on OS2 (v1.11/1.12) where all my superstyled filter adsr's on a subbasskick sound that was core to the song....were suddenly redundant all the guts just fell out of my track in one version update.......

so i went and set two folders for that piece, that corresponded to the old (perfect) setup named the song like : " 'songtitle'_v111.ALL" and another to develop further from - with newly corrected setups :" 'songtitle'_v112.ALL", and they went into separate folders with their own "child" programs/samples subfolders.

i suggest this for anyone with a beef for any major changes they can see as a problem in their work methods.

I'm with you on the whole changing OS thing. Unfortunately, JJ no longer offers a choice for new customers on the 2500.

Sooty-- Would you be interested in taking the reigns here? It sounds like you may have a deeper knowledge of JJ, regarding timing/how he works. Lemme know...

XL ain't even done yet. Its been almost a week since any bug fix. That is unusual for such an early version, unless he is adding something real big (old simult). I agree with Arebee on separate save folders for each OS.

Does anyone know if constantly reinstalling OS is bad for the box? I doubt it but i worry. I'm going between OS's sometimes. I use OS2, but xl's got some badass functions
