I just downloaded it and read this topic finally. Been busy with my girl and getting ready for Christmas. Now I gotta head out to work and try the OS tonight.
Hope everyone's enjoying the new OS. I got alot of catching up to do. :)

can I ask u a question ?

can I use the 2XL without the OS2 ? or will I miss the feats of the 2 then ?

that means can I upgrade vom OS 1 to OS 2XL without any missing feats of the 2 ??

I'm using the free JJ at present and want to upgrade

first the OS 1 and then the 2

thanks a lot

I really appreciate the knowledge of u guys !

holg, if you pay for 2xl, you'll be able to use either os2 or 2xl. 2xl is $15 more than os2 on its own.

that ARPGITR completely INSANE with one shot drum hits !!!

Haha yeah thats cool isnt it!
i only had a drum program loaded at the time so it was the first thing i did with it.

regarding the chord tracks: I thought the arp would add a delay between the initial pad hit and the remaining notes of the chord, at the moment the first note of the chord is delayed as well, gving you a moments silence before you hear anything. Is this how it worked in the beta versions Nym?

so far im very impressed,it seems a lot more stable than os2 at this time. those shortcut keys are cool, and im glad to see the input thru improvements (would like qlink>inthru filter on the main screen like it is with the akai os eventually). The tempo qlink is now set via a track rather than being a global setting -something ive wanted since ages ago!

Yes you can install it without any previous version of JJ os. You have to pay the full price
instead of the upgrade price.

it clearly says you need to buy os1 before you can install os2xl, but then you can pay the price for those who arent upgrading from os2. if you already have os1 and os2, there is only an upgrade fee for os2xl.

Is that normal that the number of the midi assignment is 36-99 instead of 35-98 in os1 and regular os2?

he changed it because it makes more sense for the first pad A01 to be a C, not a B. might have to either run your midi through a transposer (tobybear keyfilter has a good transposer you could use) or just correct your sampler's drum pgms...inconvenient either way, i know.

mikolo: the arp function applies to notes AFTER the first note, creates a space in beteween consecutive notes. if you want a delay you could always hit a rest (---) in the first note position now that that's working

yeah i haven't had a single freeze or system error and iv'e been testing heavily.
still a number of bugs and nitpicks i've noticed though

arf i wish it was more explicit and clear in the compatibility warning. Anyway it's too late i have already paid for the upgrade. I have to reassign all in the sampler holy shit :?

maybe a take a text editor to the pgms and get dirty with it? probably faster

thats how i thought it'd work, but it isnt doing that on mine (unless arp is set to 0). If i set arp to higher than 0 there is a gap between hitting the pad and hearing anything at all- its more noticeable the higher you set the value. set it to 96 and there'll be a beats worth of silence before the root note of the chord plays. Once it triggers the root note of the chord, the following notes and rests play in the expected order.

Hmm, that's interesting... Have you tried this? The windows text editor brings up a lot of missing characters on both sequences and programs (lots of squares). But it does not seem like an impossible task with a little trial & error.

A snippet:

Code: Select all*  MPC1000 PGM 1.01   MFB_KICK         d                      d                      d                      d             d      d       d                    R,  !                R50ESN_1         d      QUARE           d                      d                      d             d      d       d                    R,  !                CR78CL_1         d                      d                      d                      d             d      d       d                    ^,  !                CABASA1          d                      d

Ordered : )

I guess you cannot edit them with a text editor if I look at your example. It's not created in a readable format but only in a format the mpc can read it. Or a program editor program on the pc.

Don't know about anybody else. But in 16 Level Tune mode I'm getting stuck notes like crazy. I can quite often repeat this by holding a note and then quickly tapping a different note. Once I let go of the original note it will continue playing. It's possible I have something setup wrong, but the only change I made was to make the samples trigger with note on instead of one shot. The samples in particular are looped, but I can't imagine that would cause this issue.
