can't get 1000 jj 4.99 to sync to PTLE with MTC - followed

followed all the instructions

but it doesn't say what options to click in the protools preferences and all that good stuff

midi beat clock works

but not mtc


also it's not aligned to the grid the right way (yes the tempos match and it's recorded at 128 for low latency)

cubase and logic are the only 2 packages i have successfully got it locked like glue.

what logic would i need

express or more than that


also what kind of soundcard are you using?

i'm using an mbox 2 but i'll ust get rid of it and get something else then if i don't need protools

when tracking into pro tools, make sure that you set the mpc as the slave and pt as the master.

there is a delay when the mp is the master.

i sync the mp to pt 7.4 through an mbox 2 pro with no issues this way.

i tried doing that and i get no recording

can u tell me which options you have on the mpc screen and which options you have checked off in the protools preferences and etc?

also, on the mpc do you have each track set to 1a for the midi?

the midi channels on the main screen are for instruments. not syncing, check the manual for that.

you have to go into the midi screen of the mpc and set the mpc to slave.

yea i know about the main screen i was just seein if there's any additional stuff

i'm almost 100% i have it set up right on the mpc

When you say "No Record" do you mean on the MPC? While you are synced with PTLE, you will not be able to record using the MPC.

I have a step by step I used just yesterday to set mine up... I will post it once I get home.

For triggering the MPC1000 using MIDI Beat Clock with Pro Tools as the master device:
NOTE: (The only type of sync the MPC1000 has and can use is MIDI Beat Clock.)
1) Use a MIDI cable to connect the MIDI OUT of your Digidesign hardware (or M-Audio if using M-Powered) to one of the MIDI Inputs of the MPC1000.

In the MPC1000:
2) Go to the "MIDI/Sync" menu.
3) Set "Sync In" to the corresponding MIDI input port on the MPC.

In Pro Tools:
4) Set your tempo in Pro Tools. (See instructions at the bottom of this page.)
5) Go to the Setup menu and choose MIDI Beat Clock. Check the boxes for "Enable MIDI Beat Clock" and the corresponding MIDI output port.
6) Press play. The MPC should now be playing along with Pro Tools.
NOTE: (Make sure that the value for bars, in the MPC, is NOT set to zero. If it is set to zero, it will not be triggered.)
