new installed hd

ok so in this order, baught and upgraded ram and os. now currently on 3.08.then i recieved my 80gb harddrive, installed that.
now when ever i load up the 1000 it stays in jj os 3.08 screen for like 5 mins before it loads up properly.
also seen threads for formatting hd MODE/LOAD from hd press FORMAT/DO IT. i go through process and its stuck on wait........... screen when i try to choose hd to format.

what is the correct order for installing drive. do i update os before installing or after.
please could someone show me the correct process.

so ok, it just took a while to get past the wait stage.managed to format hd and loaded samples. i love this upgrade!!

congratz! yeah sometimes you need to be patient. five minutes does sound a bit long though.
