timing correct issue

ok so here's my problem. i'm recording a hi hat sequence say its 8 bars. in the first four bars of the sequence i throw in a triplet but the last four fars are 8th and 16th notes. if i time correct to triplets the little triplet sounds good but the rest is **** up. if i time correct to 16th's then the little triplet is **** up but the rest if fine. what do i do?

is there a way to quantise / correct the region of the sequence in isolation? like using seq- edit, i know in seq edit its possible to specify the start and end point of the region u want to process. eg: 01.01.01-02.01.01, to fix the first bar but leave the second bar untouched

you can quantize specific pads at a time

or you could do the triplet on one track and the rest on another track

or you could quantize everything to 16th's, then go in later and do the triplet in step edit or grid edit

or you could split the sequence into two 4 bar sequences, and merge them into one sequence afterwards using song mode

there are many ways to go about this, pick one

before recording anything, set your TC to the triplets
record your triplets
then set your TC to 8th notes (just SET it with the tap tempo button, don't apply anything)
then record all other notes.

or you could turn tc off and just play them the way they're supposedd to be played

also after you press fix in the first t.c. screen another window appears where you can set the range of the quantize (e.g. 001.01.00-005.01.00) and what notes/pads you want to quantize.

in logic theres settings 8/12 and 12/16 in the quantise menu, and those template lets you keep triplets...on mpc i always did it inverse to nyms way: i played my 8ths then added my triplets after changing the tc value...
