change in aftertouch handling from CHANNEL to POLY PRESSURE?

after 8 weeks, i finally am able to sit down and work on my mpc.

i found something i'm unfamiliar with. suddenly, in my MIDI tracks, my AFTERTOUCH is being recorded as POLY PRESSURE. formerly, i feel like it was recorded as CHANNEL PRESSURE.

reading the manual now - has anyone else run into tihs?

I'm not sure about how it used to work, but it makes sense as POLY PRESSURE because each pad can have it's own pressure levels. Channel Pressure is monophonic, Poly Pressure is polyphonic.

I guess it's possible he just changed the naming, unless something bigger has changed under the hood.

i agree that it's better, but it's also waaay harder to edit in CONTROL. also threatens my previous projects (maybe - i haven't checked yet)

for the sake of editing, i'd like it to be either poly or channel by user preference.
hah, i remember when i found out it was being recorded CHANNEL that i was like "hm, sure wish it was poly." now that it IS poly, i wish it could also be CHANNEL...
