JJOS SWING DIFFERENCE?

Hey, just switched my 2500 over (1.23) to the free jjos y'day, all gd so far although the manual from the jj homepage is interesting...

Anyway, I was surprised to read several posts in the akai os forum that there was a def difference between the swing feel of the 2000xl (poss 2000 also) and the 2500. I could hear that there was def a sound difference between mp's but didn't realise that there was also groove/swing diff, I thought that was more down to the user/programmer.

This could be a silly question but i'm wondering if the jjos affects the swing/feel of the 2500 at all? I.e is it closer to the xl with the new jjos or just the same?

I read somewhere here that one of the features of the jjos2 (i think) was the ability to change bit rate values? Thought since that was poss, had they also worked out a way to adjust swing/goove of the 2500 in other jjos versions?

I'm still fairly new to the whole mp world, and as I said I only switched y'day, so haven't noticed anything diff in terms of how the jjos t.c/swing is working compared to the old os (apart from the look of the layout).

Interested to know if the more experinced users have noticed anything diff with the swing/t.c.

is there really any swing difference between the 2k and the 2500? i thought that it was just a perception, since swing is really jut simple arithmetic when it comes down to it

i believe it's just perception and user comfort level
there's no swing from any machine that i couldn't replicate in my mpc, or Reaper with a mouse for that matter (not that i'd enjoy that)

If I wanted to back up my CF files onto my laptop before reformatting the CF card, do I need to put them into any special type of file/prog before saving i.e. pad 187?

i have a pc that takes CF cards.... all i do is stick the card in, make a new folder, transfer all my files the way they are on the CF disk into the new folder.... and resume using my CF card.... i don't reformat the disk or anything...unless i have to use the disk on a mac...then thats different...because switching from PC to MAC back to PC will make your comp freeze up and might erase the information on the disk.... hopefully we can get some more people up in here to give an answer....

sorry for delay in responding. I've just done a straight usb to my mac laptop drop. Will post if i find any probs going back in. Before i do that tho, i wana get another cf card n back up all my bits to that first, then see if the ones of my lap top will still work as i saved them...
