Unsuficcent memory

What up fam, just got ma self a brand new "used" mp2500 with jjos 5.4 for about 800$!

got a ? for ya all.

When i got my HOT sample into the mp, and i wanna chop it says "unsuficcent memory!"
But does a sample takes more then 16MB???? its about 16 secs in stereo.
Nothing loaded! just sampled from my turntable.

If a mono sample is maybe 16mb, then stereo would be 32mg. Your sample is too big for the memory to handle. Cut it short on pc then try loading again. Get more internal ram and try loading again. It is what it says it is, it's you not understanding it.

so many noobs mistreat ram.

they treat mpc's like dedicated audio recorders, because they hear the record.

It's not designed for dedicated time based audio recording like that. SOOOOO many noobs are getting that
twisted and end up frustrated.

Its 16 Sec's were talkin about here lamp... not 1min.
the wav is 2 MB....

i sampled 16 secs mate... not 16mb.. in stereo.

The mp2xl can handle that, but not the mp2500?

I asked a simple question, its not rocket sceince man... so cut the crap..
YEA MABYE NOOBS DO TREAT THE MP LIKE A AUDIO RECORDER... ITS A SAMPLER, RIGHT? EQUAL TO AUDIO RECORDINGS... But where the .... does that answer my question?

dont use the direct recording if thats what your talkin about.... just mode > record .... like an ol mp...

does the samples laying in the internaly memory takes the sampeling time ???
so it would be better to move em to the CF card for more sampeling time

2MB dont seem like much for a sample u think, lambdog. when the mp got 16MB.

Well, don't get mad at me. Get mad at that sample, lol.

Man handle it. Make it do what you want it to do (within reason of course). Make it to where you can load it
into the machine and keep it moving with the creativity. Chop it. Mono it. Upgrade Ram. get something happening ya know.

I do remember when I first got the 2500, it seemed like the 16mb was being used up really fast, but remember that 5mb of the 16mb is for the internal memory, and the 2500 samples in stereo.
When I got my XL, I knew when the 2mb limit was being reached because of the samples I had assigned, but on the 2500, the 16mb seems to go really fast.
Just make sure you sample in mono, and chop/purge your samples. The 128mb is a necessity. When I had my XL, I never ran out of ram, and I've never used 16mb for a song, but until you get the memory upgrade, your gonna use up the stock 16mb from time to time..more often than not.
