No for real though, I listen to a lot of various stuff. I'm also almost 31 and have been into a lot of music since I was a sophomore in high school (I can remember when the first Autechre album came out). I've gotta say that Techno Animal is often a reference point. Others include Isan, Odd Nosdam, and Casino versus Japan.

the remix is not really my cup of beer, i'm missing some drums. i listened to it for a couple of minutes, are there any?

I know what you mean, it's pretty atmospheric for the first half, and that can seem like a long time. Fwiw, the drums do get bigger at the halfway mark.
